Generally an excellent evening , buzzy bar in restaurant and table reserved for drinks before meal went to plan . Table in restaurant was excellent and food very good though one main dish had to be sent back to the kitchen as it was cold...More

We stumbled upon this place by chance and what a find. The restaurant was really busy so we were offered a table on the terrace, although it was a cool evening we found it rather pleasant. There are heaters and blankets at each table so...More

The unique selling point of this restaurant is very clear: chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. A restaurant which incorporates chocolate in its dishes, is enough to pique my interest. Because I have to confess: as a chocolate lover I find chocolate to be irresistible. Rabot 1745 is...More

I was quite disappointed by the meal I'm afraid. Both the starter and main course were lukewarm and to be honest I found them rather bland. Very underwhelmed

Found this by chance. It was busy so we sat on balcony overlooking the lovely marketplace. There are heaters outside and blankets. Service was great. Menu was interesting. The Yorkshire pudding with chocolate beef was extraordinary but so tasty. The chocolate coffee was also a...More

I don’t drink latte. However... when you come to a place like this where they roast their own cacao beans and make their own chocolate and drinks... and when the Ecuadorean Staff highly recommend it then you have to. The flavours were incredible. Toasted nut...More

Although the evening was With a cacao theme the service from our server GIANLUCA at Rabot 1745 made the evening. It’s not often that such diligence and eagerness to meet a customer needs surpasses the customer experience at other restaurant venues but this was definitely...More

Mmmmm what a place. Went for coffee but ended up with a chocolate latte x 2, a chocolate scone and a caramel/chocolate brownie. Not cheap but absolutely sublime and worth it £14 for that lot. It’s busy as you’d expect in the middle of borough...More

We visited Rabot for brunch on a weekend. This is a popular place with many full tables and we were given the choice of eating inside or out overlooking the market or outside under heaters. There is a great emphasis on chocolate being used even...More

Afternoon tea is £20/person so £40/couple, alcohol is extra. Well worth the money as the food is amazing. I would definitely book as Borough Market will be open and full of people looking for good food. Hope this helps xx

Rabot 1745 brings to Londoners the cocoa-centric cuisine of its hugely successful sibling, the Boucan Restaurant, launched in Saint Lucia in 2011 to the adoration of New Yorkers just a short-haul flight away. A unique restaurant and bar, with a terrace overlooking the bustling Borough Market, Rabot 1745 has the rough-and-polished elegance of a cocoa plantation house in the heart of London, featuring authentic touches like hurricane-felled Ironwood, brought home from our own 250-year-old cocoa estate in Saint Lucia. As well as a range of inventive cocktails, Rabot 1745 offers a delicious menu crafted by Chef John Bentham, featuring contemporary dishes that draw on the best culinary traditions of the Caribbean, West Indies, and Britain, using roasted cocoa as a subtle savoury spice.
