Nice restaurant close to where we stayed. Didn't deliver as well as previous visits to Covent Garden and Manchester. Would probably go back to Covent Garden next time were in London

By far the best Sunday roast I ever had. Meat was so tender it would melt in my mouth. Veggies were also full of flavour and desert was superb! All with a lovely Malbec suggested by the staff! A bit pricey, but guess it's worth it and will definitely be coming back very soon! What a great experience!

With a trip to Hawksmoor probably every 3 months I'd class myself as a bit of a regular and this place never ever disappoints! Start off with cocktails in the bar, followed by the tastiest ribeye steak in the UK! Everything from the steak to the triple cooked chips to the bone marrow gravy are mouth watering, complimented by a... More

OMG! This place is the best! We will never eat steak anywhere else again after eating here. If you love meat this is the place for you. Amazing knowledgable staff who cannot do enough to assist you to enjoy your experience at this restaurant. The Bar tender even made us a drink I requested that wasn't on the menu! I... More

Yes I agree that this place serves great steaks, starters also good (I had Brixham crab on toast). My sirloin was ordered medium and arrived perfectly cooked. Sides good as is wine list. My only reason for giving 4* and not 5* is that the service and overall value for money is a bit lacking in my view. Gaucho similar... More

Decided on trying Hawksmoor for anniversary dinner, Booking online was easy enough, got to the restaurant abit early but wasn't a issue being seated, We had a very nice waitress I didn't grab her name but she was a Irish lady who clearly knew her stuff along with being friendly and professional at the same time ( Something which seem's... Four of us visited Hawksmoor for a family dinner. The service was first class, attentive but not overbearing. Our waitress made us feel very welcome. Excellent food, with the steak being one of the best that I've eaten. A special mention for the mash and gravy, much better than the chips. It's a bit expensive, but this is central London... More

My daughter and I ate here on a Thursday evening, when it was pretty full. We sat at the bar for a snifter before moving to our table in the room to the rear of the restaurant. The tables are quite close together. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had starters of bone-marrow and potted mackerel. Our steaks were... More

Description
Located in a former illegal strip club, this basement bar has now been home to a crack team of cocktail geek bartenders for the last 4 years. With a newly launched menu, Hawksmoor classics including Shaky Pete's Ginger Brew and Marmalade Cocktail feature on a short list of Gin Years drinks and are joined by a list of 'next generation' drinks which now form the bulk of the new menu. Many of the new drinks feature unusual homemade bitters, shrubs and syrups with drinks suchs as the Sunset Sazerac Sunset Sazerac (Strawberry Cognac, Coconut Bourbon, Pineapple Bitters & Absinthe), the Shadow Boxer (Chivas 12yr, Blackberry & Maple Shrub, PX & Fernet Branca) and the Devil's Heart (Mezcal, Pomegranate Shrub, Jameson Sloe Berry Bitters, Sherry, Citrus & Merchant Heart Ginger Ale). Bar food ranges from shortrib nuggets (a Time Out 'Top 10 Dishes in London') to burgers, dogs, lobster rolls and poutine.

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighborhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
