So, never seen a show, never eaten beyond a bar snack. It's a great little pub. Theatre crowd come and go so it can get busy. Bit of a crowd if arsenal are playing, but other than that a firm favourite of mine in the...More

Looking for a quick pint or two in the Highbury corner area. Rejected Wetherspoons on grounds that friends worked in mental health sector, rejected Brewhouse on grounds of full of Norf Lahden Gurdianista narks. Found the Hen & Chickens and found a cosy nest with...More

Certainly not the best bar I've been to in the Angel area. One particular staff member was quite rude and has ensured that I'll never be frequenting this pub again. I'd urge you not to bother too.More

Hi Guys Apologies for the delayed response. Sadly on match days in the area, due to licensing and police requirements we have to limit to match tickets and regular faces. Next time, please do ask to speak to the manager, as some of the door...More

A great pint of cask and an amazing atmosphere. The bar staff were really chatty and friendly. Not many places like this left in London where you can sit at the bar and truly enjoy a pint, well worth a visit.

A Highbury pub with a theatrical spirit.'The whole pub's a stage', as we like to say at the Hen & Chickens Theatre Bar: a small but perfectly formed North London venue with a rich history of stand-up comedy. From upcoming theatre groups to the likes of Russell Brand and Jimmy Carr, acts at 'the Chicks' have proved as wonderfully diverse as our list of speciality drinks. Enjoy the best of the fringe over your favourite tipple and embrace both the characters treading our boards and those propping up the bar.
