Happened upon this small quaint restaurant. We knew it would be great from seeing and smelling the nan oven in the window. Delicious Iraqi/ Iranian food. Wonderful service. Would go back all the time if we lived nearby.

Arriving in London, Paddington late in the day, we were keen to finding somewhere interesting to eat not far from the station. After walking down the Edgware Road we came across Saffron. Immediately it looked more inviting that some of the other restaurants, and full of family groups tucking into a bewildering array of food. We ordered a couple of... More

We went there twice on 18th and 19th of March and order their special Lamb Kebab which was tender and delicious. The place was small and not classy but the staff were really friendly and helpful which made our time enjoyable there. We would certainly go back again.

Fantastic and relaxing atmosphere and beautiful service (sociable, polite and good adviser ). The only small negative point will be that some dishes needed some improvement (a bit salty (lamb chop) or no tasty (chicken soup) but the other dishes we tried was good.

Never had Persian (Iranian) food before and probably wasn't their target audience. However, massively made to feel at home and some lovely food. Kind of Turkish meets Indian..... which geographically now seems obvious! Quaint little place with excellent service. Include a chef making fresh cooked bread in a kiln by where you sit which was a great authentic touch. All... More

Off the Edgware Road we were looking for a Persian restaurant less likely touting for tourists. We also stumbled over Saffron as we noticed that all guests appeared to be natives of the cuisine. When we entered the restaurant a sign proclaimed that only cash would be accepted and we were about to leave when informed we could pay by... More

We stumbled over Saffron. A neighborhood eatery with that macho attitude of ‘I don’t care what you think’ (but actually they do care a lot). Fortunately having actually been to most of the Middle East and North Africa, it is an attitude we are OK with. Like most places we have never been to, I asked the waiter to order... More

Love Iranian food as my husband is Iranian so went there as it was advertised as Iranian. Food was ok but I don"t think it was really authentic for Iran and my husband was not impressed at all. We both ate what we ordered but we both felt a little bit let down and would not probably not visit it... More

Staying in Marylebone

Neighborhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
