We arrived for a pre booked event where we had booked tables outside in the covered/heated area however when we arrived we were informed we could no longer sit where we had booked, with no explanation just awful attitude from the bar staff Nicole. We...were sat on the patio where it was freezing and given one heater between over 20 people and told to get on with it. A member of our party politely approached the owner and asked if anything else could be done considering the place was empty, he did accommodate this however when talking to him Nicole continued to stand next to him shouting ‘I’ve given you the patio deal with it’ and had to be calmed down by her manager. We were seated and although it wasn’t what we requested we appreciated they had accommodated us, throughout the night the staff were polite and friendly minus Nicole who continued to be extremely rude to all of the members of the party and had the worst attitude I have come across. This was told to the owner who said he would speak to her, however she continued. As we were leaving she told us ‘move out my way’ instead of politely asking us to move to the other table whilst she cleaned up. At this point some of the party challenged her and asked why it was that she was so rude, she became aggressive got in people’s faces and swore at us. Following on from this a member of the party wanted to speak to the owner, who dismissed it and just said he will speak to her despite her being next to him laughing and he let this continue. It was then explained to the owner we have been coming for a very long time and never received this service and with staff like this, they’re going to loose many customers. She then responded extremely aggressive ‘we don’t want you to f****** come anyway’ despite probably giving them great business that night as they had no customers and now we can see why. She got extremely aggressive challenging a member of the party, to the point where she chased him out of the bar threw a glass and ice at him and had to be restrained by her owner and staff members. It was extremely embarrassing for her but also shameful that she is allowed to work in this role with this behaviour and the owner allowed her to do this. We will never after all these years go back there and will ensure we spread the message far and wide that no one returns to this absolutely awful place.More

Came to this pub for lunch on a sunny Sunday lunch time. Sat in the sun-trap courtyard and had a great Sunday roast. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent.

This is the second year we have had Xmas dinner at the Viaduct. It was excellent, the staff were friendly and couldn't do any more for us. The timings were spot on and there was plenty of food that was piping hot. Well done to...all for making it an brilliant day!More

Chef has the idea that the making of tomato soup is the boiling of some mashed tomatoes and that's it. As it is liquid and it's undeniable that there are tomatoes contained in the mush, you pretty much have to accept its soup and pay...the £5.50 price tag. However, when it comes to £15 pounds for a rubber pie, you probably can question it. I did and I was told that's how they make their pies at the Viaduct. It was a deliberate policy decision to avoid a crusty or crispy pastry and go instead for a rubbery covering. I said to the waitress I'd be happy to pay the £15 and not complain if she would ask chef to come out of the kitchen and tell me his signature dish was a rubber pie. He didn't and my money was refunded - not with a great deal of grace, but it was refunded. My thoughts are that someone should tell Chef to get it together or take a ride on the Viaduct to the west.More
