The Rose & Crown is our local and is the only pub in Ealing we ever visit, despite there being several in close proximity we could choose from. The team are always super efficient and friendly, even when the garden is packed which it was yesterday, being a sunny Sunday! We didn't eat yesterday but have done so regularly in the past and the food is always freshly cooked and delicious! The menu caters for various dietary preferences/requirements. All Covid precautions are being followed, however for people who find it difficult to use the QR ordering code the helpful staff are on hand to take their order at the table. This is a pub I would feel extremely safe visiting as a female if I was on my own which is more than can be said for a lot of places where in the past I've felt very uncomfortable. There is metered parking to the front and side of the pub (pay by phone or app) and also a reasonable size council run car park right next to the pub off South Ealing Road).

Went just for a drink but atmosphere and menu appealing. Real good decision. Pub food can often be a disappointment but the Rose is an exception matching a high standard restaurant with great choices and delicate touch. Highly recommend

The Rose and Crown, Ealing, is our go to pub for a great meal whenever we are down from Cheshire visiting our son and other family and friends… in fact we now consider Sue and her main team as family friends. We are always made to feel welcome and special, the surroundings are fabulous and the food always varied and delicious. We shall be back!

Three of us had the pork belly from the xmas menu. The pork belly was a hard rubbery, chewy square topped off with skin that was very hard to cut and impossible to eat, a bit like eating a thick rubber band. We struggled to eat it and gave up. The two pieces of wilted and crispy chard were odd, there was what one of us thought was a small beef burger and possibly some tinned apple. Now we aren't chefs but I for one can make a very nice pork belly. The pork should be succulent and melting, cooked in cider or calvados, topped with a crispy crackling that crunches as you eat it and should be the best part of pork belly. The roast potatoes were ok but not as golden and crispy and floury inside as they should be. We had to ask for more veg. A pork belly meal costs me about £1.50 using M and S outdoor reared pork and loads of veg including cauliflower cheese. At wholsale prices this would have cost the pub well under £1 per meal. Someone had the mac and cheese, the only veg option which looked like a huge unappetising stoggy dollop which he gamely struggled through. Again we could have all cooked and presented it far better. The waiter/owner asked if we enjoyed the meal and I said no and he said why? So I explained as above. He said he'd speak to the chef which we thought unbelievable, passing the blame, couldn't he see when he put the plates on the table how poor it was? With the starter the meal cost me £27.95, I didn't want to pay it but did, you have to don't you, otherwise there's a disagreement and the whole evening ends as a bad memory.

thank you for taking the time to write a review and I am sorry you were not happy with your meals. I am unsure of the date you came in to see us, so I have not been able to speak to the team who were working on your shift, as I am very disappointed you did not receive a check back and the waiter should have bought your concerns to the duty manager who would have helped you especially as you didn't feel the price was justified. Please feel free to call me on 0208 567 2811 if you would like to discuss this matter further and once again I apologise for the service you received - it most certainly is not what we strive to offer here. kind regards Sue Titterington

I went for a Christmas dinner organised from work. There was only one choice for vegetarians, which I ordered. The chestnut Mac and cheese pasta just did not work. It was cold, sweet and no sides with it. My dessert was not available when I arrived and I had to take a scoop of ice-cream instead. A bowl of sweet pasta and a scoop of icecream for 31 pounds is a rip off to say the least, and this does not include drinks. When I asked for a glass of water I was directed towards to common jug and self help. It was bad experience.

hello and thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your meal with us and we do wish you had told us on the night as we could have offered you an alternative - we have vegetarian and vegan meals on our menu and would have been happy to change it for you. As with the desserts we did have an issue with one of our dessert suppliers letting us down at short notice but again we always had a minimum of 5 different desserts and should have offered you an alternative. We do have 2 water stations in the pub for customers to help themselves if it is busy and I apologise if this wasn't the case - I have spoken to the team but as we don't know the date of your visit I cannot pin down the waiter who served your table. Once again my apologies that you did not enjoy our Christmas menu choices and should you wish to discuss the matter with me further please call me on 0208 567 2811, kind regards Sue Titterington

Walked in with a lovely greeting from the barman. Ordered a cider and vodka lime and lemonade. The lemonade was flat ordered 2 more later and once again the lemonade was flat and the vodka on both occasions seemed as if it was watered down. Ordered buffalo chicken wings and it was more batter than chicken. The chips were nice though. My friend could smell the toilet from where we were sitting not very nice.

Very disappointed as I really fancied a proper Sunday roast today. Beef was okay, if a bit chewy, rare as requested - but roast potatoes were soggy, Yorkshire pud was like cardboard and stone cold, all the vegetables lukewarm (cauliflower, teaspoon of frozen peas, undercooked squash, tiny bit of cabbage). All served up on a cold plate with a jug of lukewarm gravy. I know I should have complained at the time but I was ravenous - and it wasn't going to be improved by sticking it in the microwave. (Anyway, nobody inquired as to whether it was satisfactory.) This was at about 5.30-ish. Nice pub for a drink but I've had iffy experiences with food before. Have learned my lesson - and next time it'll be a curry from Zayka over the road.

Having often walked past the rose and crown, on Sunday I decided to go in for lunch. The pub is very nice and the staff greet you very warmly. However there the fun stops. I the menu on a Sunday at the moment is limited. I choose the burger with fries. Contrary to the blurb from the P R dept, I wasn't asked how I'd like my burger cooked. My food arrived very quickly. It was obvious by the way the cheese was melted that it had been microwaved. The burger itself was completely tasteless. Apparently these burgers are delivered daily by an award winning butcher. If this is true, they really really need to change suppliers as well as the chef. To add insult to injury the french fries weren't cooked. I sent the whole meal back. The waitress took the meal and disappeared. Apparently according to the email I received she went to fetch the manager but I had already left. I hadnt. I was stood outside by the front door. The waitress was completely unconcerned that I wasnt happy with my meal. The email I received when I complained says about the same thing. In that area of Ealing there are several pubs. All of which are worth a visit so absolutely no reason to waste your time or money at the rose and crown.

Dear Shaun R, As your comment confirms, we have already addressed your feedback in the email you were sent from our Head Office team. Had you have waited inside the pub on Sunday for a member of the Management team to come and speak to you, we could have resolved the issues there and then, as the waitress did not want to come back to speak to you after the language you had used. She saw you outside and assumed you had left which we feel was a valid understanding. Regards The Rose and Crown

Went for a drink and as the welcome and atmosphere was so good decided to try the new menu. We had the charcuterie to start with. Substantial with a great variety of quality meats pickles and a delicate dipping oil. The breads wonderful. We will certainly try as a substantial lunch with a coffee and highly recommend . My wife had the Gnocchi with chicken and chorizo which I tried also. Excellent. I went for a standard haddock and chips but certainly above the norm in terms of tastes and quality. The staff were both efficient and really nice making our surprise evening a delight.

Two of us really enjoyed our evening meal at this surprising pub, tucked away in a quiet encloave of Ealing and with a huge, beautiful pub garden. We shared Breaded Halloumi followed by Harissa Chicken adn their London Porter Hot Smoked Salmon Nicoise, with a side of triple-cooked chips, followed by a generous wedge of Berry Cheesecake. All delicious. Plus a nice chilled bottle of white. Buzzy, friendly and with very efficient service (special shout-out to Suzy, Sophie and Huw!) The generous size of the pub makes the social distancing feel relaxed and about as normal as it can be in these strange times. if you haven't discovered the Rose and Crown we would recommend it.

Arrived on time to be welcomed, well, not a welcome at all. The ‘service’ was by a someone who obviously didn’t want to be there, and we were shown to a dirty table next to a children’s party next to us. After 25 minutes of negligence, we upped and left going to the pub across the street which was completely the opposite of what we had just experienced. Awful, not recommended.

good morning I am sorry to hear about your experience here with us on Saturday. Firstly can I say you were met by a new member of staff who may have been nervous so apologies for if that came across as rude. We are a little confused though by your mention of being sat at a dirty table next to a children's party? All reserved tables are set up in advance of the customers arrival, and we don't cater for children's parties - although we did have some families in for dinner that day. We do provide signs on all tables explaining the service options of ordering at the bar or using the QR code provided however we do wish you had spoken to the Manager on duty who would have been more than happy to help you find another table or explain the options. Once again our apologies, and if you wish to discuss this further with me then please call me on 0208 567 2811. kind regards Sue Titterington

Had dinner with a couple of friends last month and thorough enjoyed it. Two of us had the tea & hop smoked haddock, bubble & squeak with poached egg and hollandaise, which was delicious. My other friend really enjoyed her burger and fries. Good value. Will definitely return.

I just returned from living abroad for a few years and really wanted a good pint of Fuller's London Pride. I used to live minutes away from the Fuller's brewery and know a good pint but this was the best I have ever had. The pub is really nice, traditional, warm, welcoming and friendly and the London Pride is exceptional. That is all I think I need to say. If you are a fan of real English beers, this place know their onions. I didn't eat here, so can't comment on the food.
