I’ve been coming here for over ten years with friends and work colleagues, but had a very disappointing evening recently. We ordered a sharing platter of tapas style nibbles. When it turned up we couldn’t believe this was for sharing - stingy quantities of undercooked,...uninspired food. Even the side order of chips was weirdly coated in some green dust which I think was meant to be rosemary. Really disappointing and quite frankly, a rip-off. Please don’t take customers for granted in this way, it’s just not good enough. It’s a great place for drinks, but I won’t be eating here again.More

Christmas drinks with some contacts. Hastily arranged with no venue planning at all. As a result expected the place (like everywhere else) to be rammed. Much to our surprise you could move in here and get to the bar quite easily. This was even though...there were Christmas parties in here on other tables. It's a bright, spacious venue with friendly staff and a good range of drinks. Didn't eat but the food looked good. Well worth checking out if you are looking for somewhere to eat or drink in the Farringdon area. It's a couple of hundred yards from Farringdon station.More

Went here for some drinks after work on a Friday and were pleasantly surprised. DJ was playing a nice mixture of music and we all had a great time.

Great food and service. Special thank you to Kate our waitress, she couldn't do enough for us, despite being a large group

I popped in for lunch. Great welcome and service from start to finish. Lovely atmosphere created by staff who seemed to genuinely care about ensuring that the customer is comfortable with the tapas style menu. The quality of the three dishes I ordered were excellent....The Fence makes a nice change from the usual bland lunchtime eateries in central London!More

Visited with a group of friends mid week, has a lovely atmosphere and a good selection of drinks, staff were friendly but not particularly enformed on the drinks menu + our drinks took 30mins to get to our table outside. Food was nice however burgers...were very small for the price and buns were not the best. I’d recommend for a post work drink, however better places for food!More

I ordered the butter chicken burger and without bun and wow did it disappoint. It came out on a tiny plate with a couple of leaves. I ordered chips as they were extra and they never appeared. So after my terrible lunch i paid £8...for the privilege to eat a flat small piece of over cooked chicke. Never going there again. Thanks for a a bad lunchMore

Went for lunch with colleagues. Had chicken burger for £8 which was quite nice. You have to order sides separately. Nice enough place for lunch

The exterior is relatively discrete and hides the fact that there is a large interior inside and, even better, an amazingly large garden space at the rear, decked out with a range of different seating types and even tables in beach huts. It was a...pleasant evening, so we sat out in the garden which was pretty busy. Initially we stood, which was fine, but a group left and we managed to sit at a table. There is an excellent range of gins and craft beers, and a good wine list - we had an enjoyable bottle of South African Cabernet Sauvignon and, from Monday to Friday you can have 2 cocktails for £15 between 4 and 7pm, but definitely head to the garden.More

Hi Ian, Thank you so much for your kind review! I'm glad you managed to find a place to sit, sometimes us being busy puts people off, so thank you again! Our wine list is going through a little tweak ready for the summer so...More
