My wife found this gem to visit mainly because of the GF options. Not expecting much what we found was some amazing food, especially if you like small plates. The staff were amazingly organised (we overheard the team talk for the evening service which was a brilliantly led team talk) and this came across in the service. It’s a must visit if you’re in this part of London.

Delicious food and insanely efficient service as soon as we walked in and shown to our table by the Manager/Host Mikey. Nothing was to much to ask for. Mikey took time to explain all the dishes we asked about and did it so well, we could taste it even before we got it and WOW it was delicious when it arrived. There were just enough banter to make the night extra special and to top it off he made sure our glasses was never empty. Have already booked our next dinner.

We loved our experience at The Shed. As it was our first time we opted for the tasting menu with the wine pairing with a side of their crispy potatoes. All of the food excellent. In one of the dishes, the lamb with eggplant purée and mint crème fraiche, the lamb was a bit tough. Our waitress, Kia, took the time to explain the layout of the menu and the benefits of the tasting menu. She was at tentative and kind and did a great job. We look forward to returning.

We were a group of 8, so we had to take the taster menu as per the restaurant's policy. We had dined there before, and our experience was positive. Not so much this time. The menu was very limited with no choice. The portions were minusculous, especially the main which felt like a starter. The dessert, although tasty, was tiny too. We ordered extra bread and an additional dish, paid a lot of money, and left semi- hungry. There were some tasty dishes, but all in all we left rather disappointed.

Fun place to try. Not what I was hoping for. Very small space and very cramped. Staff was friendly and professional. As for the food. Starters were tiny , I mean tiny. The waitress wanted us to add food (beware) and the bill quickly adds up. Little to no taste ,very bland main courses. A glass of wine was so small my wife thought it might be a tasting glass to see if she liked it. Never seen a wine glass that small. However the place was busy so some people like it. Would not go back. 5/10

The restaurant feels rather cramped, and definitely 'shabby chic'. But a good atmosphere. A simple wine list with reasonable variety. My starter of sardines was the smallest portion of food that I have ever been served. Bread has to be ordered separately (why?) and a portion represented two small slices (£2 per slice). My steak was fine. But vegetables (ie. potatoes and squash) had to be ordered separately! Again, why? The bill rapidly mounts. The staff are lovely and this was an enjoyable experience. But they really should serve sensible portions of complete meals.

I was really not impressed by the food here, i found it overpriced and the duck was almost inedible. It was so tough I could barely chew it and the sauce was over-reduced. The potatoes were overcooked, a small portion and tasted like they’d been reheated. It’s a sweet looking restaurant but it’s quite cramped, service was slow and for what we paid (over £100 a head for mains, nibbles, dessert and wine - no starter) I didn’t think it was good value and wouldn’t rush back.

This is a difficult place to review. The food was good and the waiters/waitresses were pleasant. However, there's one thing that's really missing from this kind of restaurant, and that's a real understanding of what hospitality is. It's a loud restaurant - brick walls, echoey etc, so it's hard to grab the attention of the waiters. You're totally dependent on them checking in with you. And they don't. They're in a real hurry. They almost throw the food at you and then they're gone. And you see them rushing past you repeatedly. But they never look at you to check in. They need some serious training in hospitality. And they need to get the measure of you - EG I did all the food ordering, the wine ordering and most of the communication. But they still gave the bill to my male friend who was clearly my guest. I don't think it was because they hadn't heard of feminism, I think it was just because that was the easiest place for them to stand, because when I grabbed the bill they took it back off me so that they could key it into the card reader, still standing next to him. I had to ask them to come round nearer to me so that my friend couldn't see it. It was embarrassing for me and for my guest. PS Some of them also need training in waiting tables - a small bowl of crispy potatoes was brought to us with the waiter holding the bowl from the top, palm down. Consequently the top layer of potatoes had all been in contact with his hand. I gave those to my husband.

I have been to the shed a couple of times. The food was always great but the service was extremely slow and we were given a discretionary refund. I booked this for my birthday for a family dinner and we were never served our pudding.. we all went for the tasting menu but the time taken between each course was ridiculous. We had to remind the staff we hadn’t received a dish multiple times. We arrived at 7.30 and by 9.45 we hadn’t received our pudding - mental. It’s such a shame as the food is good here but they are clearly under staffed as the service is always a mess. I won’t be back again :(

WOW! Lived up to expectations and more. The food was amazing; everything tasted unique and fresh. The service was very friendly, helpful, and prompt (thank you, Kia!). Also, nice selection of wines and beers. We had read about the bread (not something I usually order separately) BUT definitely worth getting - it's delicious on it's own but also great with all the different sauces (didn't want to leave anything behind, wish we could have licked the plates!!!) Seating is a little tight but my husband and I were able to sit next to each other at one of the small round tables, sitting on the bench - we wanted to share everything. Highly recommend - get a reservation.

Such a great place to eat, love the ‘farm to fork’ concept. The staff are very attentive, friendly and welcoming. We all had the tasting menu which wasn’t actually available but the chef said we could all have it. This showcased all the different items perfectly on the menu, the highlight for me being the homemade charcoal ravioli! The chocolate mousse for dessert was ridiculously delicious and I didn’t want it to end! The summer spritz cocktails were light and refreshing and went well with the tasting menu. My brother had the tasting wine addition as his chosen drinks, each one paired excellently to each course. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The Shed at Dulwich is an amazing and exquisite restaurant, located in London. Not only is it truly in a shed, its menu is uniquely delightful and your emotions can drastically change upon arriving there. I went and ate there with two of my friends for my birthday, and needless to say - I wasn't decieved! The waiters were really nice and the chef's gourmet meals were delicious. Would reccomend!

This was the second visit for my son and I having been there in February when we sampled the 6 course Tasting menu. The menu had changed slightly but the experience was still worth while. The service, as before, was perfect, our waitress was there when needed but was not intrusive nor was the waiter who was not at all phased by me asking for a cushion. Will definitely make a third visit.

Very nice and cosy venue. Staff is very polite and attentive. Unfortunately the staff is actually too present to the extent that we are afraid of leaving the fork on the table “unattended” thinking it would taken it off us in a flash. There is literally no pause between courses even when a few minutes pause was explicitly requested after the first two courses. This was all a bit overwhelming and it does impact the experience. Some courses were very nice, however the bavette was chewy and the queen scallops had sand. I would like to try this restaurant again but on this occasion 3 out of 5 is the fair feedback in my view.

Upon the review here we explored this place near our Nottinghill hotel. After a long day journey we were hungry and opted for the GBP 50 menu plus GBP 30 wine by glass deal. What a fiasco. They simply don’t know to prepare a decent meal, even less a 6 course menu. The wines were served at room temperature when they should be chilled et etc etc… A wasted London evening. Stay away.
