Excellent starters however the pork belly and the fish were undercooked. One was replaced with an excellent scallop however the fish replacement was thin and overdone. Sweet and cheeses wee excellent. The manager handled the situation well and gave us a discount. Will I go again, probably not - too many amateur mistakes.

We went here for drinks and a light supper before an event at The Science Museum. The service was excellent and the food delicious - we had a selection of tapas sharing plates. Our favourite was the humous and aubergine. The Picpoul wine was also very nice and served very cold. Lovely decor and cool music. What's not to like... More

My sister and I were staying at the Ampersand and decided to have breakfast at the hotel, at Apero. The atmosphere is so cool, and the lattes we ordered were gorgeous. Unfortunately I can't recommend the eggs benedict, it was just okay. The hollandaise wasn't quite so flavorful. However, I did end up wishing I had the breakfast buffet. It... More

We had lovely cocktails whilst staying in he hotel. It would have been nice for there to have been a little more atmosphere but the staff were very helpful and efficient.

We have visited Apero several times, and it never disappoints. If you go early, it tends to be fairly empty. The Ampersand Hotel is really nice and they serve a very good afternoon tea. But in the lower ground floor, Apero is the perfect hidden restaurant, not overlooked from the street and with excellent service and food. If your party... More

Met up with family on a visit to London. Have been here a few years ago in the evening, which had been a sharing tapas like menu, which we loved. On booking again, we had not realised, that on a Sunday lunchtime, they only serve a brunch menu. However, the staff could not have been more helpful. Apero is set... More

It is a lovely setting in South Kensington and beautifully decorated. We came on a Saturday lunchtime and had brunch. The menu is appealing and reasonably priced considering the area. I had a bloody mary which at £9.50 was very disappointing. It was watery and had no kick despite asking for it to be spicy. The food itself was tasty,... More

This is one of South Kensingtons great places for breakfast. Located in the basement of The Ampersand Hotel, it is a stunning light filled setting with professional staff & great, fresh food. There is a buffet for £16 a head that includes a coffee & juice. But the a la Carte menu is where it's at & has so many... More

We were there as guests at a firm's Christmas do. Food was great, service was keen to please (although could have been more attentive, especially for the non female drinkers). Nice atmosphere, great company.

Take sanctuary from the street-level bustle and dive in to the flavours of the Mediterranean at Apero, the all-day neighbourghood brasserie nestled in the vaulted cellars of the Ampersand Hotel. With leather snugs, Spanish tiled floors and exposed bricks this intimate London restaurant and bar is where South Kensington chick meets Mediterranean zest. Apero chef Chris Golding isn't interested in stuffy gastronomy but creating great, unpretentious food packed with colour and fresh seasonal, ingredients. His easygoing menus are perfect for a relaxed meal, from breakfast to supper. Highlights include our popular sharing menus - flavourful Mediterranean-style eats that work at any hour - and the great value £12.00 Lunch special. Apero's bar is a convivial place to sample our quirky signature cocktails like the Tintoretto or L'Oiseau de Feu, all of them inspired by the collection at the Victoria and Albert museum. You can also experience The Ampersand's wine cellar in The Wine Room, adjacent to Apero, which seats 10 beneath a stunning chandelier. The Wine Room is available for private hire. Just ask our events team for details. Sharing Menu - £30 per person Lunch special - 2 courses/3 courses - £12.00/£15.00

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
