Looking for a good restaurant in Leicester Square before a show can be a bit of a challenge. Look no further as this restaurant will not disappoint. The staff were welcoming and displayed excellent customer service. We were offered the evenings “special” consisting of lobster, steak and a glass of fizz for an extremely low price and were absolutely delighted with the quality of the food and the alternative menu should we choose to order from that.
Most certainly will always head for Heliot again when in London as reading other reviews this wasn’t just us striking it lucky their quality seems consistent.

Myself and my partner visited here for my Birthday to have the £20 lobster and steak deal (lobster tail, steak, fries, glass of champagne and a free chip for roulette – booked through bookatable). The service is exceptional. The waitress who had only been there a few weeks, talked us through the menu with lots of information and was very friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our meal. The food came promptly and we chose to have some extras such as a starter, sides and drinks however there is by far enough food to keep you full by just using the £20 meal deal. The steak was delicious and cooked exactly how I liked it. They brought an array of sauces for the chips and everything was presented well. We spent some time finishing our drinks after our meal and at no point felt like we had over stayed our welcome. The atmosphere was great and we enjoyed our time in the hippodrome. And to top off my birthday I won £50 using the free chip on the roulette!

My friends and I had a fantastic expereince dining at the Heliot Steak House on Satruday 25th January 2020. We opted for the £30 pp bottomless champagne lunch which included steak, lobster, chips and a dessert. Really good value for money. The steak (as part of the deal) was rump steak so we all upgraded to the fillet steak for a £8 surcharge. Well worth the money! It was the best steak I've ever eaten! The lobster was a little on the small size but you couldn't expect a full size lobster with this deal. To be honest it was more than enough.
The service was also excellent. Firstly, we were served by Nicolas and then Tommaso - two lovely people. The champagne flowed constantly and both were very friendly.
My email correspondence was with the manager, Salvatore, and I received very quick responses.
My thanks to all - we will certainly be back!

We are members of the casino and always eat each time we visit. The Fillet steak with red wine sauce was to die for and the Mac and cheese did not disappoint. Malbec was delicious and you get 10% off as a member even though membership is free. We also had the lamb on a bed of rosemary which was also fabulous. Best value steak in London.

We visited the restaurant on the final night of our stay in London. I was surprised to see that it was not very busy on a weekend evening… in a casino…. in Piccadilly Circus?
In any event. The restaurant is several levels that overlook the casino floor. Surprising, it was not that loud. We were seated and handed our menus and the waiter appeared about 15 seconds later and asked what we wanted to order. He then seemed a bit put off when we said we needed some additional time to review the menu.
I had the meatball appetizer and Filet Mignon for an entrée. Both were quite tasty and the steak temperature was spot on. The cheesecake dessert was probably the best thing I have eaten my entire time in London.
The food was quite good, service was a little lacking. It seemed like we were an annoyance to the wait staff as opposed to be welcoming and accommodating.

3rd meal here and sadly the last. the service was just OK. The worst part for me was the standard of the customers, previously was a lovely ambience, now it’s drunk riff raff in scruffy clothing. It’s such a shame it’s gone down hill. other than the lobster being an empty shell with zero meat in, the chips were nice and hot, the salad was well seasoned... not exactly difficult to find a portion of hot chips in London though. unfortunately would not recommend

visited last Friday my 38th wedding anniversary, thought I would try some fine dinning. scallops to start very nice, very expensive for 3 scallops. I then order Sirloin Steak wife ordered the salmon. the salmon was very nice my wife was more than happy. I also ordered a glass of wine and a beer again very expensive for what it was ,but we are in London and expected to get overcharged compared to elsewhere in the country. my £ 27.00 Sirloin medium rare, I could not eat it as I could not cut it Sinew running right through it .I asked the waiter to take it back to the Chef. if he could eat it I would pay for it. After an age the waiter came back and explained that in every batch of steak there is always a bad one !! I must have ended up with it. Chef said he would pay for it. bill came the drinks were charged when I asked them to be complimentary he agreed and took them off the bill. new bill came back and he had charged me for the chips £4.00 & mushroom £4.00 for the meal I could not eat, few words later he took them off the Bill. I then paid the bill. as I walked out I looked at the bill and could not believe that they had charged me 12.5% service charge ( what service?) Heliots Shame on you, my night ruined thanks

Whilst we appreciate your comments we think that is harsh to give one star to the team, they really tried their best to make your evening special. When you sent back the steak we did offer another one, you said no, so we removed the steak from your bill. You thought that wasn't fair paying for the sides that you and you partner had, so we removed them from the bill and finally you thought that you should have a complimentary drinks which we kindly gave to you.
No hard feelings from our side. Our steaks remain the best in town, so do come again.

Our favourite restaurant in London, not just for the food but the atmosphere and overall enjoyment of the Hippodrome casino and Heliot restaurant. We had been trying to book for several months but had to wait for Lockdown etc.
The wait was worth it, to begin we had seabass octopus and meatballs all were delicious, for the main my wife and I had fillet steak and my sons had the dry aged rib on the bone and the 500 gram sirloin all were cooked to perfection and the quality of the meat is superb.
Our waiter for the night was David, he was very friendly professional and attentive at all times a true credit to the restaurant.
This is my third or fourth review for the Heliot but it never fails to impress.

This restaurant never fails to impress! Our go to restaurant when we visit London. The steaks are so tasty, melt in your mouth, each course beautifully presented and really great value for money. Great atmosphere overlooking the casino, we will be back the next time we are in London.

We came here to celebrate my friends birthday and being Casino lovers were impressed with the £50 gaming chip we were also given. The Steak and Lobster (£20 per person) was superbly cooked and the whole ambience of the casino if not hugely busy was a good one. I even won the £50 back on Roulette with the free chip so that really did make my night. We would not have any hesitation in returning and are already planning another visit to London.

Came here for the first time after the pandemic (my husband used to eat here almost on a weekly basis before), and although the food is still tasty, everything has been reduced in size and increased in price. Staff were still lovely though. We had the surf & turf (£38 each) and the steak was just a around 5 small slivers of steak and half a tiny lobster in shell which was hard to get any actual meat out of. It was also covered in cheese which I didn't expect and wasn't mentioned in the menu (I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known that was the case). French fries, which you used to get included in the meal, are now charged at £3.50. We also had the mac and cheese (£4.50) and the mushrooms (£3.50). The food was served on wooden boards which both we and the waiting staff struggled with - bring back plates! We had the pornstar martini (£10.95 and again smaller than it used to be) and a pint of Bud Light (£6.20). Service charge of 12.5% was automatically added. The food is still really tasty, and the staff friendly, but what used to be a regular haunt now gives the feeling that you're being ripped off somewhat. Remember that before the pandemic this is the place we could get steak & lobster (much bigger than what's served now) for £14.50!

First of all be prepared to be eating in a wannabe VEGAS style casino. The atmosphere is surprisingly fun but when you walk away from the table to use the facilities you are surrounded by hundreds of tourists (and a few locals) all gambling away.
Nothing wrong with that if that's your thing but for a special event such as a birthday then it spoils it. Food wise, there is far too much effort in making the food look amazing rather than making the meal tasty and satisfying.
Yes their steaks are good but a little on the pricey side even for a steak restaurant. Talking of price, everything else, and I mean everything else is WAY over priced. It is clear you are paying for an experience, NOT for a level of cuisine that they suggest you are getting. The squid starter was nice, the meatball starter a massive disappointment - over £10 for four meatballs with a little sauce and nothing to accompany it. If you don't want a steak and just want a burger then save your cash and go across the road to Burger King where the burger is bigger, tastier and doesn't come with luke-warm fries.
What I will say is the service is very good. They made us all feel very welcome, not surprising when you realise just how much the gratuity is when you are paying on average almost £100 a head when you include some drinks.
I had read a lot of great reviews about this place and I can see why some may enjoy this experience. Some of the dishes look incredible the way they are served with dry ice really creating a beautiful and exciting display of artistic grandeur. But it is all let down with the taste and size of portions (I wish restaurants would stop this pretence that less is more). ALMOST ALL of us joked about grabbing a takeaway on the way home afterwards and some of us actually ended up doing so.
Would I visit again? No, which is a shame as there is real potential in such an iconic location.
Oh and save yourself some cash with the desert and go grab an ice-cream or a GU Melt in the middle chocolate from the supermarket. A lot cheaper and A LOT tastier than anything else they had!

I was really impressed with the whole experience. The service was excellent, they were attentive but not overbearing or interrupting...
The food was excellent too, we started with cocktails and then I had a ceviche dish which came out in a very theatrical way with dry ice and then we each had a steak of our choice cooked to perfection! I was so full up and it was great value for money as well...... it was all warm and the chips were cooked really well. Also the red wine was lovely, we had the 'chocolate tree' for dessert. Not a single problem occurred. Would highly recommend!

My best friend and I visited for our joint hen do and were disappointed with the service. The gin options were very limited and we were given a double measure (charged at £10) without being asked. This was served with a warm mixer.
My friend and I ordered the burger and we were given free bread which was very tasty. The burgers arrived and were delicious though the waitress had asked how we wanted them cooked and when my friend replied ‘rare’ she was told it could only be cooked medium, which seemed strange.
I finished before my friend and my plate was taken away whilst she was still eating which we found rude.
The restaurant also immediately adds a 12.5% service charge which was disappointing. (This seems to be the case in the whole casino even when only ordering drinks)

Ate at the Heliot steakhouse prior to seeing Magic Mike Live. We ate from the MML set menu, which is great value for money. Service was attentive and food was yummy. Staff knew we were going to the show and even kindly reminded us about time.
