Haven't been in here for nearly 10 years - and decided to pop in for a late brunch and full fry up - it may not be a la carte or silver service - but what it is, is good quality hearty food fit for builders, trades, tourists, businessmen and anyone who enjoys no nonsense food. Staff are always attentive... More

Four portions of breakfast hardly fit on the table. Very hearty and good value. If not slightly intimidating portions. Don't have a cholesterol test within 24 hours of consumption. Friendly and welcoming.

Everything a London caff should be. Fun friendly clean great food good pricing. Top dollar and the S A lady behind the counters a blast! So glad you're on our doorstep and much enjoyed the chats and coffee in the aftermath of chucking squatters out one street down...

I visited this cafe with a friend, I have visited this cafe before and it didn't disappoint. We both went for fried breakfasts and both arrived quickly, good honest food at a great price.

Large, bright, buzzy, spacious, with bags of soul. Inexpensive working men's cafe in an original state. Love it, long may it remain.

The Shepherdess is by far the best cafe in London. If you are after traditional English food such as jacket potatoes, full English, egg and chips or just a good sandwich this is your place. The cafe does a roaring trade and is very highly recommended. Along the rear wall are photos of the many high profile individuals who have... More

We stopped here for breakfast when passing by and think this is hard to beat for a cheap fry up. They serve breakfast all day, do a half decent cup of coffee (which surprised me, as a self confessed coffee snob) and have a large selection of food at a good price. It's a no frills cafe but beats expectation.... More

Lots to choose from and reasonably priced. Good place for a quick and easy breakfast and better than paying hotel prices! Busy little place but food was nice and came really quick both times.

Stopped off here for a coffee and was drawn in by the, now very unusual, decor of formica table tops etc. Wasn't too busy just after the peak lunch period and my coffee was quickly served and of a high quality. Lots of photographs on the back wall of famous customers down the years.

What can I say stayed in a local hotel and after a night out needed a good full English rather than a pay continental breakfast, Shepardess fit the bill, fast service and good breakfast!

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighborhood Profile
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
