Visiting my brother in London and he booked us in here without telling us. Was a great surprise to look like we were walking into a sex shop!! We arrived a little earlier than our table was booked for so we had a drink at the bar. The cocktails and food were really good, although it was very difficult to... More

Was very disappointed with the food here, definitely do not recommend. I ordered a quesadilla and, when it came, it looked nothing like one. My partner ordered a steak fajita which was very small and tasteless. We also ordered two cokes which to our surprise were in the tiniest coke bottles I've ever seen (yet £3.50 each). I could have... Absolutely loved this restaurant from the quirky entrance and interior to the bar service, table service and food! A must to try when visiting England - I would be a frequent flyer if I lived there. Bravo La Bodega Negra!

What a funny surprise for my partner! The food was brilliant, the waitress serving us was very friendly, she recommended the dishes we had and we were very happy with the choices she made :) and very full! Cocktails were pricey but yummy! I have recommended this to friends who also had a blast at this restaurant!

There is a sex shop down Old Compton street which isn't really a sex shop it's a Mexican restaurant called La Bodega Negra once you are brave enough to go through the doors you are greeted with a friendly smile and taken downstairs to your table although very dark downstairs it's amazing you could spend hours just looking at the... Great food and excellent service. We had a really nice waitor. Have to say the starters were the best part. Really good and tasty. Nice flavours. For the main course we ordered the lamb for two. A bit let down after the starters because the taste was a little boring. The concept for the restaurant is really cool and different.... More

Entrance through a strip club signed door. When you go downstairs it opens up like a large cavern. Not much light and loud muisic, which a lot of people would like but not for everyone. Service was quick and good. Menu in Mexican style, good for sharing. Wine list is reasonable, bit overpriced for what they are though . Beware... More

Looking for a fun spot for a pre or post theater drink, give this one a try. IF you can find it. This is NOT the restaurant of the same name on Moor Street, this is the hidden basement bar with the entrance off of Moor street. It is so well hidden that there isn't a sign. You have to... More

Came with a friend for lunch. My first visit to a Mexican restaurant. Certainly wasn't over impressed. Food was reasonable and the service OK until it was time to get the bill. Took ages to attract a waiter's attention and then found that a 15% service charge was included. Probably my first and last visit.

Third visit here. Last time it was great. This time what on earth happened? Service was beyond slow. When food arrived it was stone cold. It wasn't even that busy. Bill was reduced accordingly but you added a "discretionary service charge" hello what? We had this removed. Very disappointed this time.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
