Had an amazing lunch at the Red Lion Barnes yesterday! Food was amazing and service fantastic. Very well run and lovely family atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit 👍🏾

We haven’t been to the red lion since their reopening. Friends have been there for lunch and dinner so we decided to go. Every time we passed by there was a queue outside but last Saturday there wasn’t one. They got a good system in...place : there’s a host at the door, barcode to be scanned (we didn’t download the covid app due to bad reviews, people got scammed etc). There was a table by the door. Really good to see everyone serving was following the measures and it was a really safe atmosphere. We only had drinks and stayed for less than an hour. It was quite busy as it was Saturday. Maybe book a table if you don’t want to wait around.More

Friendly helpful staff and amazing great value food and drink!! Social distancing and the Covid thing in place and...very efficient , like clockwork ! it all feels very normal! Can’t wait for the next time! Thank you !More

Booked a table here for a late luch on Sunday afternoon. Sat outside which was lovely and spacious, large table for 2. Was ready to give our food order when we were informed the kitchen had stopped taking orders for an hour due to the...high amount of orders. Didn't expect this as we weren't told at the entrance but our waitress was lovely and gave us a bowl of complimentary nuts which alongside some wine & sunshine, made the hour go pretty quick so not an issue! I had the plant based burger which came with chips & was absolutely delicious, probably one of the best plant based burgers I've had! Would definitely return again.More

Dear Kayk, I am glad you enjoyed your Sunday afternoon visit. Our plant based burger is a favourite especially with the secret sauce and triple cooked chips. We hope to see you again soon. Best wishes Claire

Even with restrictions in place the Red Lion has got it sorted. We sat outside and had a 3 course meal, first outside since lockdown started. Service was really good, one way system in place, hand sanitzers on arrival, the tables were cleaned thoroughly between...customers and everyone was pretty relaxed. We both had 3 courses, glass of wine and a couple of beers - with the government discount it came to £69. Well worth it and will be back again this Tuesday.More

Everything about our lunvh was excellent. Greeted by the manager with a short explanation of the safety procedures. Saniitiser widely available. Outside table on the (astriturf) grass, Wine list was a revelation-way above average for a pub eg albararino, viognier. Great choice of beer (Fullers...Pub) Food was delicious -smoked salmon nicoise and crab salad on a brioche. Charmng waitress service (Helena) . If you are visiting the nearby Wetland Centre, this a great base for lunch or a drinkMore

After so many months of Lockdown, it’s good to get back into circulation and - with this in mind - my wife, myself and a family friend had lunch earlier today at the Red Lion in Barnes. This was not our first visit (see previous...review) but it was our first post COVID-19 and a good opportunity to see how the property had responded to the many challenges this has posed. As is the norm these days, advance bookings (these are for inside tables only with the popular garden tables allocated on arrival on a first come first served basis) are required and this process is very well handled via the website. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and shown to an inside table with - as there was some availability - the option to sit outside. We chose the latter and were given menus and our drinks order promptly taken. Ditto with our food order with all 3 of us opting for the Roast Norfolk Chicken Sunday Roast which was not only delicious but excellent value for money at £16. All in all it was an excellent visit from start to visit - I was particularly impressed with the food, service and the way the management has adapted the property to accommodate to meet COVID-19 requirements. As such, I don’t think it will be long before we pay a return visit!More
