Part of the new Victoria in the purpose built bars and restaurant area, this is about 10 minutes walk from Victoria train station. High volume business, the staff are better than a lot you find. Two storey premises, nicely decorated. Usual Brown's menu. Worth the additional walk to get away from the crowded pubs in and around the station.

We walked in after seeing Wicked a couple of blocks away. About 5:30. Plenty of seating. By 6:15 it was packed. Small but good selection of food. The fish pie was huge, and very good.

Booked by phone for four for a business lunch. Colleague and I arrived first, hung around waiting to be seen to, then after a lot of peering into a computer a waiter sat us at an uncomfortable small table in the almost empty restaurant. Shortly after a passing waiter suggested we move to a different table close by, which we... More

Started the evening with a lovely waitress who was very attentive. Had the Guinness and Steak pie which was very tasty and Sticky Toffee pudding with ginger ice cream was absolutely delicious. The problem was our waitress's shift ended just as our food was served and a male waiter took over. He was very very slow. By the time he... More

My daughter wanted to have afternoon tea while in London. Some of them get pretty pricey - $40-$50 per person. They charged $15. We made reservations and promptly arrived on time. We were taken upstairs with a table next to the window. Service was very nice the tea was very good. They brought out a nice selection of scones, mini... More

I got what I expected from a place which is to me and what I usually pay an upmarket restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff polite and efficient so no complaints. Beautiful toilets too, never seen hand lotion in a gents before.

So I booked Browns for our first night in London based on the reviews, and regret it! When we arrived, we stood at the desk for a good 5-10 minutes waiting to be seated before anyone came to us. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful although we did feel quite rushed at the start. We didn't order starters and... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
