We've been regular visitors to Gokyuzu for a long time and the food is unbeatable along Green Lanes. The newly refurbished restaurant is a lot more relaxing and the ambience is a lot warmer. Their newly improved menu has some real treats. Obviously the meat dishes and Beyti's are fantastic but I highly recommend the king prawns on the fish... More

I avoided the pitta (obviously) although it looked fluffy and perfect. Even so, I had no difficulty in eating the sumac zesty salad and dip brought to us before our order. I also avoided the rice which comes with the grills and ordered chips instead, as the rice has some added grain to it which might be wheat. That said,... More

Gokyuzu is truly brilliant and caters for all tastes. The odd negative review about service charges etc.. should be totally ignored. This restaurant is deservedly popular for a few simple reasons. Firstly the hot and cold meze's are amazing. Delicious, freshly made and great value. The veg beyeti is a vegetarian's delight. The one thing that does amaze me, is... More

Very welcoming staff who lead you through this massive seating area to your table far away :) A huge, tasty quantity of salad and bread later , we were greeted by some authentic falafels . This was followed by fried veggies wrapped in lavash bread and cheese along with melt in the mouth cubes of grilled lamb wrapped in bread... More

This place is a regular haunt, I no longer live nearby, so not as regularly as I would like! I usually have the veggie kebab, but wanted something different this time. We therefore decided to have 2 of the mixed meze plates (both veggie!) and both delicious! so so good! Love this place- keep up the good work!

Gokyuzu is owned and run by us, the Yavuz family, and has been since we first opened our doors to the restaurant in the popular Green Lanes area of Harringay in 1999.

As a family business it was vitally important to us that everyone worked well as a team. We took a lot of care in selecting great chefs and training our front-of-house staff to understand the Gokyuzu way of doing things… with warmth and generosity. Nothing is too much trouble in our restaurant. Our customers are our guests: just as they would be in our home.

We think it says a lot about our approach to Turkish dining that some of our most popular dishes are our sharing platters. One of our bestsellers is the “Full Platter” – a combination of lamb shish, chicken shish, adana kebab, lamb ribs, chicken and lamb doner, chicken wings and of course rice and bulgur – and we believe that it’s popular because it encapsulates what Gokyuzu is about: everyone can try a little bit of everything and enjoy the experience of communal dining and sharing food and time with others.

We always intended to create a home-from-home restaurant; a warm dining experience, where diners can relax and staff are happy. This is what makes a great Turkish restaurant. Of course, it’s also fabulous when we hear that diners who are visiting from Istanbul believe our kebabs are better than the ones they get at home. It makes us feel that we’ve achieved our goal: a truly authentic Turkish restaurant in London.

We look forward to welcoming you to Gokyuzu
