So, you ate a big English breakfast and you want to go to a nice restaurant for dinner so... for lunch you want something really good that won't fill you up to the point you are not really hungry at dinner. You don't know it...More

This lovely delicatessen is very close to Bond Street and the area were many Doctors have their private practices, and last week I found it while looking for something to eat. Had the mushroom soup and it was divine, with half brie sandwich and artichokes....More

A great place to leaf through the paper and sip a restorative cuppa and buttered toast, in part of the city so full of places that are trying so hard in all the wrong ways, this place does all the right things. Good straightforward soup,...More

There are not very many cafes in London that I would call truly unique especially in the West End but Paul Rothe & Son has been a family business for more than 100 years and mostly on this site. It is located at the Southern...More

A real treat to visit Paul Rothe & Son which was established in 1900 and has been run by the same family for four generations. The cafe is very traditional and there is friendly service from the staff who all wear traditional white aprons. They...More

A wonderful sandwich bar and deli that has been in the same family for four generations. It is a slice of old London that is well worth a visit. Their selections of jams and preserves must be second to none.

I stumbled across this great little deli/cafe with a friend whilst touring West End galleries and I'll make a point of calling in again in future. It's a far cry from the chain establishments practically around the corner. There is a really wide choice of...More

Marylebone offers what so many London neighborhoods
cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience.
Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged
between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the
southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of
Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as
pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The
bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it

Here we have a London version of an authentic New York Deli. It's been family owned and run, at this very site, since 1900. Spick & span, it offers a welcoming range of classic deli lines plus hot soup & cooked dish-of-the-day. Terrific choice of sandwich fillings on a choice of breads. A little oasis of old world charm and hospitality in a 21st Century metropolis.
