Busy. Cheery excellent service. Amazing flat white and filter coffee. Pastries looked delicious. A great place to take a break from Borough Market.

Borough market is a must see in London and if you want a great coffee, Monmouth coffee is where to go. Great flavour and brilliant buzzy market atmosphere.

very good coffee. Not easy to get really good coffee in London. Long queues but they get through it efficiently.

Judging by the queue outside the door at 7:30 AM many people know this is a great place. Lovely to sit outside on benches and tohave a coffee on the way into work. Great bakery products too.

The long lines are definitely worth waiting for. Cafe au lait to die for, definite best coffee in the borough.

There's a branch in Maltby street that is far better and more original where they have the actual machine that makes the coffee! Plus its 1000000x cooler than every hipster at the queue here. The wait kills the pleasure, but the coffee is pretty nice. I can't argue. And the lady who owns monmouth (who is often seen at other... More

If you don't mind queuing for a good coffee and simple pastries, this is the place for breakfast and a cuppa! The aroma of coffee is just ecstatic! The price for ground beans or have them grind is very reason. You can even try them freshly made before you make your choice.

Monmouth Coffee has, by far, the best coffee in London. Furthermore, the latte I got from Monmouth last month during our U.K. visit was the best I'd had anywhere. The staff are efficient, despite being very busy and the coffee is heavenly. My family and I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the Borough Market area. We loved... More

One of the best coffees we had in London. Right by Borough Market, it was the best way to help us recover from our food coma after eating at Borough Market. Read about this store online, and we found it quite easily just by following the aroma of the coffee. The store also had a small range of coffee beans... More

Place serves fantastic coffee. Tried the latte; the coffee is slightly acidic but it has very strong aroma. The organic sugar goes very well with the coffee blending into a palm coconut sugar mixture. Though 'sour' at first, the coffee leaves a fantastic aftertaste without the bitterness usually found in mass market coffees. The place is packed and there aren't... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
