The restaurant is located on a fairly busy road about 5 minutes walk from Greenwich centre. It's attached to a pub so has the usual selection of drinks on offer. The menu has a fairly select range of options; which usually includes a number of pies, fish and chips, and ham and eggs. The food is fresh and homemade with... More

What a treasure to find Tom at Green Pea treating us to that familiar hospitality and wonderful food . I first met Tom iIn the early 80s I would meet friends and eat wonderful food with Tom the exceptional host....then he was gone and life moved on. What joy to discover Green Pea and Tom serving hearty portions of well... More

Maybe that was our mistake. We ordered Fish & Chips and fish was ok but the chips were mediocre and I don't like peas. Outside seating lacks any of the warmth and personality you might get from eating inside. We had no friendly person serving us as mentioned in all the other posts ... our server was an old 'salty'... Wonderful food, Tom's usual hospitality which is warm and friendly. We had lamb shank and pies for our party of 5, everyone v. happy with their choice including the vegetarian option. Looking forward to returning soon.

When I first looked on TA this was rated as the 6th best restaurant in London. Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Waring, Michel Roux etc. and indeed I would have found that interesting. But then again the best restaurant in Canterbury on TA 2 years ago (and possibly still is) was a sandwich shop and not really a restaurant at all. Clearly... More

Had a lovely Sunday Roast here last week.. Am a local to Greenwich and was aware of this place and tried to book in a couple of Sundays previously to no success as was fully booked. Glad i finally did. No frills but very tasty hearty traditional irish/British prepared food. Very sizeable portions and great value. Tom and his colleagues... More

2 years have passed since we first tried Tom's hospitality and this lastest visit paid dividends many times over. There's absolutely nothing posh about this place whatsoever ; you very much are Tom's guest and when in Rome... The food is straightforward - and al the better for this. Great flavours, top quality, more than ample portions, beautifully cooked -... More

I chose to eat here on a Friday evening purely based on the Trip Advisor Reviews. When calling in advance to book although my booking was taken I was advised that I may be called back to cancel it as there had been no customers the previous evening and the owner would shut up shop if he got no other... Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
