Great atmosphere and fantastic staff, real helpful and friendly, doing all to make it a good night. Drinks were delicious, and the other people in the bar were fab as well when we were there. Will make sure to make it back!

What a fantastic place to eat, take your own wine, food absolutely superb, good home cooking, simple menu, home made pies, home cooked ham, sausage and mash, fish and chips. The green pea is a must. The food is brilliant and Tom and the two girls are so friendly and the service was so quick and the price was so... More

Have to laugh at the reviewers crying about Tom - he's a great character and puts a lot of heart and soul into what he does. What he does is good honest food at a great price. Love the place, love the pies, love the spuds, love Tom.

Had a wonderful experience at the Green Pea Bistro. As this was our first time I was not aware that it was normal to bring your own wine - not a problem as Tom [the host] recommended an off sales across the road which had an extensive range of wines - fantastic. Tom talked with us, especially as this was... More

We were very excited to find the 40th place to eat in London based on reviews so close to us. But unfortunately from the moment we entered the little pub, the old man who was one of the waiters started shouting at us giving direction about where to put the buggy, where to sit, showing where to stand, albeit with... Not worth visiting for the Sunday roast but if you'd like to be treated like a misbehaving child who should be grateful to be seated at a table on a stage like platform underneath a huge tv screen in the adjoining pub then this is the place for you...

A delightful little restaurant - do book or you won't get in! Tom, the owner, was very helpful and very happy to do a vegetarian/gluten free dinner for me with prior notice. Everything is cooked fresh so you have to let them know in advance if you have any dietary requirements - but then your meal is great. The staff... More

Another triumphant Sunday dinner courtesy of Toms enthusiasm for what he dose , another full house with nothing but praise and compliments from every table Needed cheering up after a disastrous birthday meal Friday night , and the pea with its Sunday roast was just what the doctor ordered

We arrived there on a Sunday noon, no reservation, was fully booked ,so Tom told us it was fully booked and if we wanted we could go to the pub next door where he could serve us the food too. Food good, but not exceptional unfortunately we didn't try the meat pie. Tom gives a grumpy and unfriendly first impression,... More

Staying in Greenwich

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
