MEDLAR has been a personal favorite of mine for the past several years, and it keeps getting better! The food is outstanding and on a gourmet level. The wine service is equally amazing (NOTE: Be sure to take advantage of the sommelier....he is a recent addition of the highest order). Service is very good and keeps up with the packed... More

Had a set lunch for 3, it's quite rare for all of us to rate everything about a meal as excellent but on this occasion we did. The food which can be described as international is varied and within most peoples budget. From start to finish outstanding service from staff who really want you to have a memorable experience.

Ate here on the Kings Road on 4th July. Really good food, really good service and, for a change, an exceptional cheeseboard (which should never be difficult but most restaurants seem to fail miserably at it). One of the best meals I've had for quite some time.

Went with friends on a Saturday night. The food was superb, service very good and the staff friendly and personable. The wines our friend chose were excellent. Delicious truffles and marshmallown served with coffee. Only downside was that the restaurant was quite warm, which got a little uncomfortable later in the evening. Not sure if they have aircon but didn't... More

The food is of a special quality, the mouth watering creations making any visit special. The wine list too is worthy of attention, offering, in addition to classics, superb wines from countries that have no established reputation for their growths.

Second time here since first visit perhaps a year earlier. New sommelier, and perhaps the three-course menu increased by a a pound or two. But the same Michelin-starred dedication to food and service. Medlar isn't cheap--beware the siren call of the wine list--but is remains a bargain compared to the many more expensive, and often inferior, competitors in London. I... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
