We visited as a group as part of a Saturday evening birthday celebration. Originally booked at one of the three outside tables, the weather was such that Medlar quickly found us space inside; just as well we had booked for an early dinner as the restaurant was full by the time we left. The evening offer is three courses for... More

Booked for my birthday based on tripadvisor and professional critics reviews and our visit really surpassed expectations. Like their approach with a fixed price menu. For started , mains and deserts there were many options I was tempted by. Crab ravioli to start was really delicious, main of pork cheek was equally well balanced and executed. Desert was sublime, lemon... More

Around my 4th visit over the last couple of years and the whole experience consistently good. The best thing about coming here is the exciting, different menu. The wine list and atmosphere, comfort and staff all excellent. We were a group of six and had a great table with loads of space and were never hurried even though we were... More

A friend had recommended this French boutique restaurant on the Kings Road. The atmosphere is cosy and quaint with an eclectic collection of art and colours on the wall. Tables are French bistro in style and the team are warm, friendly with a cross-section of French employees. The menu had an array of exciting choices and the descriptions were very... More

I have eaten here twice in the past month On both occasions the food has been top-notch. Beautiful quality and precision cooking of classic cuisine. Prices are completely reasonable (ie cheap) for food of this standard. But the restaurant is not "stiff"- the staff are excellent and the ambience is relaxed. This is now one of my favourite restaurants in... More

My husband and I have eaten at Medlar 5 times and it never fails to impress on all levels. We love eating good food in great restaurants but always seem to compare them to Medlar! The food is exquisite and beautifully presented (I should have taken some photos), it changes seasonally and the different flavours and textures are matched perfectly.... More

Super service, good wine selection and very delicious lunch/dinner. Starter, main and dessert are all very creative. For casual lunch or occasion both very suited.

By all standards this is a very fine restaurant. We've been in the past for dinner and enjoyed it - though it's pricey - but this was our first lunchtime visit. It was great to know that the standard is maintained and even at the prix fixe for three courses of £28 the range of dishes as well as the... More

The desert menu is truly the reason this is a destination. Don't get me wrong the starter and main courses are just stunning but the desert has to be the best I have ever tasted in my life. If you go ask for a table close to the back as the main room can get loud.

Came here on a Friday night with my parents and friend for supper. The service was warm, friendly yet polished which created the perfect ambiance. In a nutshell this is excellent cooking with affordable prices.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
