Nice pub, grade 2 listed, opposite Hyde park, which you get great views from up stairs. The food sadly was very mediocre.. order was wrong .. tepid food and dry ÂŁ12 for full English Management did to be fair rectify the mistake but resulted in dry over cooked, I suspect the food was placed under a heater rather than cook the order fresh .. Would I go back .. I would but not for food

We popped in here for breakfast. I was surprised that at the price of the breakfast a drink was not included and who has breakfast without a drink? So what seemed a reasonable price for breakfast turned out to be an expensive option as having a cup of tea really ramped up the price. Should have checked first, felt a bit ripped off. For the rest of our stay we found local hotels offered a better value. Shame as i liked the pub and the food was fine, nothing special but fine.

Looks great but service and food was a shambles. Sat there 15 mins without a menu, waited a further 40mins for our drinks to come out had to ask for them(1x tea and 1x juice). Food come out bacon roll one small piece of bacon on a roll £7 👍I’d be embarrassed bringing that out

My wife and I visited London for a long weekend in August 24. The Sunday roast they advertised as the best in London! Quite a boast, but we decided to take the restaurant at its word. Without doubt, it was the worst Sunday roast I have ever been served. First of all, there was no roast beef option - it had sold out - so I opted for the roast pork option and my wife roast chicken. The roast pork had been completely overcooked, tough as `old boats`, cabbage was also overcooked to mush, apple sauce was stale and tasteless, and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and hard as cardboard, carrots overdone, weird tasting potatoes from a tin which they roasted, can`t even be bothered to make proper roast potatoes - while the gravy was synthetic, unpleasant and made out of a packet. How hard can it be to caramelise the meat and use the meat juices and stock as a basis to a gravy? My wife was served overcooked grey coloured chicken drumsticks, and all the other trimmings which were all badly cooked. You would expect a chicken roast to have white breast meat but no, they served up cheap, tough chicken drumsticks. The meal was the worst I have ever been served in a restaurant, I wouldn`t serve that rubbish to my dog. Even after complaining to the waiter and telling him what we thought of the food and how terrible it was, we were still still given the bill for the full price of that muck - no reduction was given despite sending back plates of uneaten food. I bitterly regret paying the bill and wish should have refused to, but did so just to get out of there. Advice to diners, do give this place a miss it will leave you with a very disappointing dining experience. After leaving we went to another restaurant (Park Restaurant, Bayswater Road), where we had a great meal.

We booked a table for a small work Christmas dinner, but were dismayed to find that they had no vegetarian dinner options, as the only one on the menu was sold out. This was at 6pm, so I dont see how it could have sold out. They obviously hadn't prepped any. The waitress suggested a mix of chips and onion rings, which doesn't really do the job as a Christmas dinner. I had a salad instead. Brilliant. We asked for a second wine list so that more than one person could read it, and they said that they only had one list available. Seems a bit strange. When we were about 20 minutes into our dinner, a waiter came and moved our glasses and bottles aside to put a "reserved" sign on our table for the next seating. We found this to be incredibly rude, as it felt like we were being hurried. The reservation wasn't due for another two hours, so it felt unnecessary. We took the sign off while we ate, and the waiter argued with us until we let him put it back. Not very Christmassy, and I didn't have the energy to fight him too much on it, because all I'd had to eat was a salad. Well played, The Swan. So all in all, OK food (if what is on the menu is actually available), awful service.

Through the years since 2004-2024 this pub remains one of my favourite pubs in central London , I have went through many management and staff through the past 20 years at this pub ! I am still a loyal customer , but the food prices specially Sunday road you pay £22.50 plus service charge 12.5 % is too much it’s absolutely crazy , for a small portion , 2 slices of thin beef and half parsnip , one carrot 4 roasted potato’s to pay £22,50 plus £7.50 🍺 a pint ! and no pork road any more ! Could be not Halal ! But must be something behind it ! However I kindly need my service charge back because it’s illegal ! I knew the staff were nice and polite but you should inform me before I start dine in .

The location was great and the beer available was good. Breakfast service was disappointing, no butter was brought out with the toast even when requested. The sauces we requested took so long to turn up that we had finished our breakfasts. The scrambled egg on toast was really poor it had been under a heat lamp for a while. I would congratulate on the poached eggs I had though they were perfect. The actual ingredients used very good with great flavour. Just don’t expect butter with your toast or any condiments to turn up. We did complain to the staff, who didn’t seem to be that interested.

This pub was well-rated; we were especially looking forward to the signature dish, a chicken, leek, and ale pie. But although we had an early dinner (6:30), we were told they're out of the pie. The waiter (who barely understood English) couldn't understand why steak and cabbage pie wasn't the same. They refused to bring a trout salad with salad dressing on the side (perhaps were unable to understand that request!), so the member of our part who does not eat beef had a dinner of soup and pita with a surprisingly scant amount of beetroot dip. The atmosphere is loud and greasy with no refinement. I do not recommend this place.

Ordered & waited ages for breakfast. The porridge with fruit was 4 blueberries & 4 thin slices of banana. The avocado & egg was the tiniest pot of avocado, one slice of tomato & a not quite cooked poached egg. The full breakfast has 2 solid poached eggs. Service was very slow Would not recommend for breakfast

. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but after placing the order it took a long time for the food to arrive. The food was only lukewarm on arrival. We had to send the chips back and they gave us a new serving. The slow braised beef and ale pie was mostly mash potatoes with few beef morsels. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Went for Sunday roast. The meat was overdone but the accompanying vegetables were quite tasty. There was a Yorkshire pudding that seemed tired. Everything was helped by gravy. But … this pub has one of my FAVORITE beers, Fuller’s Black Cab porter. That was the highlight for me. Next time, I’ll just have the beer.

I came here on Thursday, March 16th with my adult daughter. I had made reservations from Canada a couple of weeks earlier and we arrived in good time. The pub was very busy and there was a large birthday party beside us, so I understood that service might be a little slow. I was little perturbed that there was a thick electrical cord hanging down against the wall behind our table, plugged into another cord from the floor, but it wasn't a serious issue. After a considerable wait (just over 15 minutes) we managed to get the attention of the gentleman who was serving the birthday party and ordered a glass of wine and a beer, and our meals. My wine arrived a few minutes later but my daughter's beer did not arrive for 40 minutes, nor did the food. When I flagged down the gentleman (who was not easy to get hold of) and told him it had been forty minutes there was no apology, and he looked very annoyed. A few minutes later my daughter's beer arrived, along with some quite indifferent food (neither of us finished). It was our first night in London and the feeling was that we were more of a nuisance than anything else. My recommendation is that the pub not accept reservations from more people than it can serve in a reasonably timely manner. There are many great restaurants in the area (as we fortunately discovered during the rest of our holiday) so I wouldn't make a beeline for this one.

Located at Hyde Park, separated by a street, close to Lancaster Gate. Typical English pub ambience, with terrace outside, it has a kind of "beer garden" feeling. Service was friendly and fast. Prices are correct for well served drinks (one glass of French sauvignon and one pint of draught beer for 11 đź’·). The only thing that surprised us was the fact that no "drink menu" was available for customers. We had to ask the waiter and he verbally told us the prices..... Pub food available but not tested by us. Would go back to this busy pub.

The Swan by Hyde Park was the perfect stop for our first day in London. It’s the quintessential cozy English pub. The patio has great views and the food hit the spot. My husband has fish and chips, and I had the sea bass and both were cooked to perfection.
