Working in the area, I've walked past NOPI countless times but never ventured inside. I went with a girl friend for breakfast on Saturday and was not disappointed. We booked for 11am and were led through the beautiful light and airy ground floor dining space to the communal tables downstairs. Considering there were not many time slots available to book... I'm sorry to have to write this but we we felt very disappointed by our experience at Nopi's saturday night. We were there to celebrate a special family birthday and were looking for an experience to match. Firstly, the music.. they were playing some very unsuitable, unrelaxing house music which even the younger ones in our group thought was a... More

We are regular customers of Ottolenghi in Islington - this was out first dinner at Nopi following a decent brunch there a few months ago. The food was, as expected, excellent. The total experience left us feeling a bit puzzled and underwhelmed - somehow the service, the advice on dishes, and the drinks didn't all "come together". A couple of... More

Starting with the handmade artisan cocktails and continuing through the artisan desserts, NOPI proved to be first rate. Two couples shared the pre-theater dinner and the food just kept coming. Each course was better than the last! The sweet potatoes, chicken and sea bass were perfection. We did, however, even in the face of so much good food, save some... More

A great calm casual atmosphere with friendly service but it is the food that steals the show. Ask for advise and help from the waiting staff who are very knowledgeable and helpful. The flavour are subtle but strong and everything works so well together. Be bolld andif anything over order then share courses. The wines are good and varied and... More

I love all Ottolenghi's restaurants but this one is the ultimate Ottolenghi's experience. The food, restaurant, service and wines are excellent - I could hardly concentrate on the conversation I was so excited by the food and while others were chatting I was sampling. This is one of the best restaurants in London, I can't wait to go back! Great... More

We had high expectations but this place really blew us away! The mackerel was worthy of any top notch restaurant - delicate and clean. Loved the okra as well, which made great use of Asian spices and had a firm, springy texture. The celery sorbet dessert with apples and pecans was also exquisite. Got to try some fun wines as... My wife and I loved lunch at Nopi today. (We had been told about Nopi by our son, a foodie.) We sat at the bar and tried several dishes. I loved the ahi. The staff, was very helpful and informative. I commented on a specialty drink he was making, and he quickly offered me a taste. I soon had one... More

The option is to either have individual courses or to share plates. We took the sharing option. Highlights included aubergine with saffron yoghurt, pomegranate and basil, Squash salad with tahini and zatar, and baby chicken with lemon salt and chilli. Great cocktails and an Interesting range of wines, including “orange” wines which are worth a try. Service excellent.

We have several Ottolenghi recipe books which we love and thought we'd find out how to cook the recipes properly. Wow! What an amazing range of flavours. Absolutely loved the food, the service and the vibe. Great team - really friendly and helpful. We chose a selection of the smaller dishes to share and to be able to try more.... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
