Lets be honest, when it comes to Italian restaurants you are never short of choice. Most of them have a similar approach and menu style. The usual plethora of pizza's, bruschetta, lasagne and packet pasta not to mention steak and chips. Now and again however you find something that resembles a true Italian eatery and this place is one of... More

We didn't have a reservation at this popular restaurant in Shoreditch on a Friday evening, but they squeezed us in. Service is utterly charming, managed by FOH Marissa. The pasta is so delicious, but be warned, the portion sizes are enormous!

I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time it was not impressive but overall okay. Food was average and we had a glass of Barolo that was not what was supposed to be. The second time was really disappointing. The pasta we had was not good, portions were ridiculously huge and the quality very poor. Service was hectic... More

I went here with friends one Saturday evening. The restaurant was busy until late. We all enjoyed our food, some dishes could have been seasoned a bit more but on the whole very good. The service was quite slow but we didn't mind as we were working our way through a couple of bottles of wine.

This restaurant used to be one our favourite gems in London, somewhere we've been going to since we met and recommended a number of friends to it. However, it's now changed with the expansion that has doubled the number of tables. I'm not sure where the lovely staff have gone, but they've been replaced with incredibly inefficient people and the... More

When I say ever in the vacinity a bit of an understatement, out of the many Italian restaurants I've frequented this is by far the best. Make sure you book as they get busy! And the gnocchi is the most flavoursome you will ever have always enjoy and can't wait to visit again!

This place is tucked away in Rivington Street, not far from the Hoxton Hotel. Luckily we had already booked as they were busy and turning people away. The service was great, you can try before you choose your wine and the atmosphere is buzzing but relaxed. The veal and seafood dishes were great, fresh and full of flavour, with the... More

Exceptional service, great atmosphere and excellent food. Thank goodness we booked on the Saturday as many had to be turned away. It is always a great sign if the staff have the attitude of 'an owner'. And we saw this approach throughout the evening. Authentic regional Italian food well cooked and with great flavour. I particularly enjoyed the Beef carpaccio... More

Dropped in for a bowl of pasta and as usual the quality of the food was good. The service however was lamentable. Had to ask for the menu 3 times, waited 15 minutes for the drink to arrive. Asked twice for a follow up drink and then waited ....... And waited for desert!! Coffee arrived before the desert and one... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighborhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
