Decided last minute to book a table. That worked surprisingly, on a Friday evening. Service here is great not overdone, just right. Meat is lovely and the wine choice good for every budget. We went for Brunello. The dessert was nice as well. One comment, the coffee, we had espresso and ristretto is not great. They come much better then... More

With a big shot in town we were invited for a quick dinner. The choice fell at Barbecoa across the street. Upon arrival we were nicely greeted and guided to the upstairs dining area. We had a nice table for our group with a view of St Paul's cathedrals side. Drink orders were taken and opted for the Helles lager.... More

A lot of reviews here saying the food is average. I don't necessarily agree. We've been here twice and really enjoyed it both times. Their meats are really well cooked and seasoned. This time both of us left feeling a bit disappointed about the veg however which was not seasoned and bland. My partner had the roast with Yorkshire pudding.... More

A few days ago i visited the restaurant of J. OLIVERS in London. The dishes were hearty and tastes exceptional . Excellent service but quite expensive ! The shop modern with multi medals and pane but beautiful.

First I had mixed emotions seeing the grilled platter of meat. Somehow it looked messy and did not whet my appetite . Maybe it was my expectations and the plating. It was flavorful and fall-of-the-bones quality but nothing differently exciting in terms of taste and seasoning that our local grilled barbecue place back home would compare.

For starters, Barbecoa is located next to St. Paul's cathedral and has a fantastic view. The service is fantastic, the staff are all friendly and attentive and they really know the menu. Typically places in that location are designed for rich bankers who want to show off how much money they have and staff can be inconsiderate and rude, in... More

It's better to go to Barbecoa without expectations so you wont be disappointed. The service here is great as they are constantly checking up on you but the food was pretty average. Had the chicken and sirloin for mains and smoked duck starter. No wow factor.

Really disappointing visit for dinner. Working nearby I've always wanted to try this place due to their meat specialities. Well aware it's not cheap but we don't mind paying for quality. Meet and greet etc good, smiley, professional and quickly shown to our table. Beautifully laid out restaurant but soooooo unbearably hot I couldn't wait to leave! Minimal menu and... More

Made a critical mistake and choose the chicken. It had 90% bones and 5% meat. Rest unknown. Sausage was the best part of the meal. Left the restaurant angry and hungry.

We visited on rainy Saturday for lunch for 8. We were definitely upsold on the menu so left with a bigger bill than we expected. The food was OK(and the service was good but the premises were nothing special given its location.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
