I've been visiting the Old Nuns Head for a few years now and always had a great time there. The staff and management are always friendly and welcoming and the food always seems to be a hit with friends. I'm no longer living in the area but still make the effort to travel back and pay a visit, especially on... More

For many years now, the Old Nun's Head has been at the bleeding edge of contemporary public house development, which is a great tribute to its skilled and courageous young management team. The kitchen and food is always super high quality, and it's place in the local battles for Sunday lunch is almost legendary. You really do have to book... More

Nice local pub. It is a shame the outside area could not be bigger as great sun trap. Good selection of beers and not overpriced. Toilets could do with being refurbished

Always enjoy going to this pub. It has a great easy-going atmosphere. The Thursday night quizzes are light hearted and fun. Like the idea of the "pop up" restaurant -gives you a choice of food. Have eaten there several times and have had no problems

Visited with friends as they live in the area. Was expecting an amazing roast for £14. Very disappointed. The meat was nice, but everything else was really below average including a pancake shaped Yorkshire pudding, and not what you expect for £14. Staff are friendly, service was (scarily) quick and the atmosphere is good. Would recommend for drinks with friends... More

The lamb is back on the Sunday roast menu, and it's delicious. Lovely welcome, as always. If you haven't been here on a Sunday yet, try it out (but you'd better book first! Most popular pub in the area.)

Having lived in the area for 13 years and throughout this time been a fairly regular patron; I made a conscious decision NOT to go to the ONH over a year ago. Last night having arranged to meet friends and finding the friendly and welcoming Beer Shop closed for repairs, I made the mistake of trying the ONH again. The... More

Hi Kate, I agree, the lighting here does need some more work. We've already replaced many of the broken lights and expect the rest to be in full working order very soon. I'm sorry that you hate the new bar pendant lights, many people love them but I guess you can't please absolutely everyone when it comes to interior design... More
