Taking into consideration that this is a high street brand the standards have to drop dramatically in order to be fair, whoever disregards this element is just naive. So let's leave the sticky and damaged menus disregarded for a second, or the fact that we were not offered anything to drink until after 15 minutes, nor the fact that we... More

Dear Bachko, Firstly I must apologise for the experience you received yesterday. While we are a brand that is present amongst the high street; this does not discount the fact that what we should be doing is offering a service worthy of paying guests and reading your review it appears we made a lot of mistakes. I would like the... More

Really nice birthday dinner with a dear friend: Chose from the set dinner menu: Calamari fritti (with Mayo; Salsa would have been a better and lighter option). Penne Giardino was good but a bit bland, so I firmly grabbed the pepper mill and gave it a good 'merry-go-round'. Tiramisu was a bit too firm and dry for me: I prefer... More

Dear BrixTom2000, Thank you for your review. We visited this restaurant before and were looking forward to a good meal. We ordered a grilled ribeye steak but it was dry and missed marbling. The grill marks looked and tasted like burnt meat. I informed the waitress and she said the new chef had only been there two days. She offered a refund but that was not the... More

Dear Stany_VE, Thank you for your review. Firstly please accept my apologies for the quality of the meal we served, it is a rarity that our meat is of poor quality and I have discussed this matter with our butcher and my head chef, and I am confident the matter is resolved. It sounds like we did not do enough... More

What a lovely place the South Ken branch of Carluccios is. It's our favourite of all the branches we've visited and while we use it a lot when visiting the Proms, we also go at other times. As you walk in, the range of breads and other foodstuffs on sale is a very welcoming sight and creates a great atmosphere.... More

A pleasant place to meet friends and enjoy a relaxed glass of wine and a meal. Antipasto platter is very good. Queues are inevitable at busy times.

I ate here because I didn't want to go to far from Victoria and Albert Museum .I would say ring and book perhaps as it's madly busy at lunch time or buy a picnic superb choice of very delectable goodies at the deli counter including the largest meringues I've ever seen .We sat outside maybe not a great choice as... I have agonised over writing this review. We visited 2-3 weeks ago as a 'give them another chance' kind of thing after a very bad experience in the Glasgow branch. I chose the South Kensington branch as a safe bet to have our meal and went with high hopes. We called in early to check our table was indeed booked... More

We have been to many Carliuccio's in London. They are different but all good and the food is really good taking the price into account. It is not a place to relax for several hours; it is more or less the American style and you should leave when finished. But it is NOT the the American way in the sense... More

I ate here with my mother early one evening and was very disappointed. I think the main problem is trying to squeeze too many customers into the restaurant without enough space or staff to cope... (We were sat alongside a big table and I practically had the lady opposite's hair in my dinner.....) Service was pretty negligent... The food wasn't... More

Popped in for lunch for two today. True Italian feel and decor along with a terrific atmosphere. Yes there was a high level of noise because the diners were happy and having a great experience! Food was excellent. Pate starter really good, ravioli super and olives to die for. Service was very good from all the staff especially Lucianna. True... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
