We arrived fairly late on a Friday evening (around 10.30) The bar is nicely furnished and has some outdoor seating by the water. We ordered our drinks and were told that it had to be in plastic cups because they were closing so i had...my cocktail served in a plastic pint cup, it tasted good but lacked finesse! Husband had a draft beer which was served flat. We sat outside as we were told it was closing. We sat for 20 or so minutes drank what we had and left. The bar was still serving. I am sure it was just the end of a long day for the workers but in comparison to other bars we visited this was the least friendly. Not a bad experience just not as good as other bars in the area.More

Hi LisaM5237, Thank you for taking your time to write a review. I apologize for your experience, we should not have been serving drinks in plastics and I have taken this up with the team. We have all agreed to serve drinks in the proper...More

I loved the food. Very tasty & authentic. The chefs are Sri Lankan, very friendly & understandably proud of their food. The egg hoppers were lovely. The curry was delicious. I didn’t like the pub much so check the good food reviews. The bad pub...reviews are bringing the TripAdvisor score down. Food was excellent but pub decor not so comfortable for my taste. However, I’ll definitely revisit for food when I’m next in London.More

My team at work, 8 people, visited The Limehouse for lunch. Our office is in the same building and we noticed it changed from The Fine Line to the Limehouse and the signage suggested Sri Lankan food. It’s still fundamentally the same pub (Fullers) with...similar beer but the food bit intrigued and as I live in Limehouse nearby I felt a tenuous connection. So, we booked a table and it was laid out inside but it was a nice sunny day so we opted to eat outside. Setup was quick. Staff very friendly. Full table service. Questions of the menu were asked and decent responses given. Food was very good. As a table we had bothered the veg and non-veg shared plates, and then a reasonable mix of mains. Lots of positive noises around the table. If there was one point drop, it’s that the spicy food wasn’t that hot/spicy. A lady came out at end end and asked if we thought it was too spicy/not spicy enough. Some of us said too spicy. I suppose it’s always a fine balance. On the other hand the waiting staff did say you can order anything spicier if you want, and I will next time. Service for lunch was quick enough. We were in and out within about 75 mins. Beer good too, but this isn’t the ‘90s so lunchtime restraint was shown :-) Will go for food again and will continue to visit as a post-work drinking hole.More

What was The Fine Line has subtly metamorphosed into The Limehouse, a sensible move, topographically speaking as its location in Fisherman’s Walk, Canary Wharf E14 is close to the Limehouse Basin. And in order to stand out from all the other pubs at the same...address it has chosen to substitute for more usual pub or gastro fayre a short menu of Sri Lankan cuisine including rolls known as Hoppers. I played it safe opting for a lamb curry with rice and salad. The curry comprised some chunky pieces of lamb in a rice gravy for which a spoon was helpfully provided. The rice was fluffy and the salad (mainly grated carrot) refreshing. Overall a bit bland and no obviously Sri Lankan ad opposed to Indian or just Asian. Perhaps I should have gone for a hopper! But with a pint of IPA stout designed to make me even stouter than I am at present this curry in light airy and relaxing surroundings proved a good way to pass some time immediately before a 2pm hearing in the East London Family Court.More

Lovely authentic Sri Lankan food in a nice pub environment. Excellent value and food that melts in your mouth and full of flavour. Go there and you will not be disappointed. Owners of the food bit are lovely and from Sri Lanka. And being a...Fuller’s bar, good beer too. Egg hoppers are a great snack but the whole menu shouts taste, spice and a reminder of the lovely cuisine you get in Sri Lanka. 5* food and modest prices.More

This is a smart pub in the centre of Canary Wharf offering a good selection of good pub food at reasonable prices for the area. The staff are friendly and are willing to help. There is a good selection of gins and a nice selection...of beers with Fullers at the forefront.More

Decent enough pub. Yes it’s expensive, but it’s right in the heart of the headquarters of some major banks. I thought service was ok. Came at a less busy time. But saw it was busy later from my hotel room at the Marriott across the...quay. Worth a visit if in the area.More
