Nice little pub tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of London. Great selection of beers with quick and friendly service. Toilets are downstairs and very clean. Would highly recommend this pub for a nice refreshing drink to rest your weary legs. Many thanks...More

A pub owned by a different brewery so it had different brands of beer. The beer was good and cold. Sausage Sandwich and Fish and Chips were solid choices. No service. Order from the bar and they deliver to table.

We found this small upstairs restaurant by chance. Charlie Chaplin used to rehearse here! Great range of gins and good hearty pub food, again lots of choice. Attentive, friendly service upstairs. Great value for money.

Made a flying visit to the Bear and Staff while in London. Altogether a nice friendly bar with a pretty good menu that should have something to suit all tastes. Good location and not a bad stopping off venue.

We had a Pre-Theatre- Menue with original Englisch bar food: fish and chips, steak and chips and a tasty big brownie with ice cream. Nice lads to serve the food.

Hi there. The nearest disabled parking would be in the parking garage in china town which is a 5 minute walk from us. We do have high tables in our bar area or normal tables in our raised area which is up two stairs... More

Description
You will find The Bear and Staff in Leicester Square London within a short stroll of Leicester Square Tube, Charing Cross Road and Trafalgar Square - however you won't find another like it.Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality. The Bear and Staff is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere. The Bear and Staff pub has stood here since 1714, the name coming from the crest of the Neville Family. The pub counts villains and celebrities in its considerable history. One landlord lost his licence on proof of Sunday trading and robbery! The current building, dating from 1878, was once frequented by Charlie Chaplin and our restaurant is named in his honour.
