We've enjoyed several occasions to dine at Gauthier and always found the menu and food superb. The service is always very efficient, discreet and the wine pairing perfect. We were particularly surprised on this occasion to find that the standard had not been compromised at all despite it being a "Two for One Tasting Menu" offer. The normal price for... More

Gauthier is a very upmarket restaurant, but my experience was there was more style than substance. The restaurant is an old town house with rooms on different levels. Each room has an ornate and expensive design theme. There unfortunately is no air conditioning and the paintings were literally dripping with condensation by the end of the evening. The food is... We were not disappointed by our visit to Gauthier Soho recently. We were promptly seated and our drink order taken within minutes (definitely a "plus), while we perused the menu which also didn't take long. Dining with a great chef should allow one to sample as much as possible, and we were certainly not disappointed. We also decided to add... More

We celebrated here recently. We were seated on one of the upper floors of the restaurant and once seated we were looked after by a very attentive waiter. We enjoyed the amuse bouche and loved the bread served at the beginning of the meal, especially the parmesan and red onion bread - simply delicious! We opted for three courses, going... More

We booked a Gourmet stay with Gauthier for dinner staying overnight at 11 Cadogan Gardens, it was an excellent experience. We had the tasting menu with matching wines , the food was faultless, first class for taste ,flavours and presentation, the sommelier looked after us very well with his pairings. Service was smooth and unhurried, the icing on the cake... More

In an old 1700's townhouse with vertical dining that climbs up 5 stories from the basement kitchen, comes the best dinner we had in London. We had four courses, with an extra few counting the amuse and an extra dessert--each was inventive, each was delicious and each was gorgeous. Service was warm, and hospitable. The summer tasting menu included fresh... More

Having had an outstanding lunch here a few weeks ago, I decided to take my mother for a birthday treat and what should pop into my in box but a summer 2 for 1 offer on their eight course tasting menu. We were seated in a calm first floor dining room by the window - all off white and very... More

For those on the mailing list of this restaurant, the current offer of their 8-course tasting menu for £75 for TWO people would be hard to beat anywhere. There's even a vegan version for £65 for two and I imagine vegan menus are hard to find in the fine dining arena, I doubt it would disappoint. Our eight courses were... More

I went here a year ago and I received an email from the restaurant saying that they were doing 241 on their summer Tasting Menu, that was a good enough reason for me to revisit this restaurant with my sister. I love the location of this restaurant set within a lovely townhouse within soho. You feel like you're dining at... More

Booked on recommendation. I'll keep the review short. Absolutely fabulous. Always book, you have to ring the doorbell to get in. lovely sumptuous surroundings. Largely set menus but they were happy to swap dishes without question. Just ask for wine to match - the sommelier knows his stuff. food was superb, one of the best meals we've had. Can highly... Having earned a star within a year of opening Gauthier Soho, Alexis Gauthier is described by Zagat guide as "...one of the Best New French food destinations in London...". With an emphasis on vegetables in all dishes, Alexis provides a seasonal tasting menu with the best possible ingredients (British where possible) for omnivores and a vegetable option, as well as an A la Carte and lunch/pre-theatre option. All served in a chic Soho Townhouse where the staff really make you feel special. There are also five private dining rooms for parties of all sizes.

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
