There are spacious, attractive tables bordering the canal. We were seated in the remainder which are crowded into into a corner where it is hot, stuffy and noisy. Before our food arrived, as there were now empty tables by the canal, we asked to be moved. The request was declined by the manager whose response was that "everyone will want... More

Visited The Summerhouse on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and 4 month old daughter. We arrived without a reservation and was met by a young girl at the front of house who was busy styling her hair when we arrived... I asked for a table for two and she asked if we had a reservation. When I explained we... More

Hello there, Thanks for taking some time to leave us feedback, and I’m glad that you enjoyed your food. I apologise that you felt that you weren’t greeted as you expected by front of house staff, and I will investigate this further for you. Over the summer months, we are often incredibly busy, and delays in drinks and food service... More

This was our third visit to the Summerhouse when visiting our son in London. Both previous occasions have been good but sadly this Saturdays was not! We booked a table for 6.30 and on arrival were told they needed the table by 8.30. Food was good but my cheese board final course of 6 biscuits and five slithers of cheese... More

Hello Thank you so much for taking the time to send us some feedback. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your third visit to the Summerhouse, as much as your first two! Due to the popularity of the Summerhouse, especially during the summer months, and with most successful restaurants, a time restriction is given on the... More

As Americans visiting London, we never would have found this neighborhood gem in Little Venice had it not been for the recommendation of a local friend. Such a lovely ambience on the canal - friendly service and great food. Not a wonder it was absolutely booked solid on a Tuesday night! So if you are looking for someplace "out of... More

Nice setting. Service v slow. Waitress didn't speak English well enough. Time waiting for main course unacceptably long. Sole was very salty. Spinach was grainy. The manager was too intent on winning an argument, rather than listening to our concerns- and still had the cheek to try charge service. I will never go there again.

Hello Gary, I am terribly sorry to hear about the experience you had when you visited the Summerhouse. I apologise profusely and would like to explain the reasoning behind the slow service and the wait for food. The evening that you visited us was particularly busy due to the unexpected hot temperatures in London, which did not bode well with... More

Had a lovely evening here with friends. Good food, good service, good atmosphere, good location. Plenty to watch on the canal. Ideal for summer. One of London's little hidden gems.

This restaurant is great - food, staff and atmosphere are all brilliant! The restaurant is situated on the edge of the canal with a picturesque view of the water and boats. We had requested a table by the window and were lucky to get this. However, I would have been happy anywhere in the restaurant. We arrived slightly early and... More

We got a table right on the river which was nice. We were able to watch the ducks, fish & paddle boarders float by while we ate. Most of their dishes are fish/seafood selections. The sea bass and the salmon cakes were particularly good. For dessert, we tried something we had only heard about...Eton Mess. (Google why it is called... More

Standard of the food is never disappointing @The Summerhouse. I have been coming here foe some time now and always choose clam chowder for a starter + lobster for main. The quality of food is great and this is the reason why The Summerhouse remains their clientele. This is my regular place for clam chowder lobster fix! Staff is friendly... More
