Afternoon visit with my mum and my family. Staff was helpful and accommodating for a 5 person party. They made up a table for us on the main floor rather than in the downstairs dining room. Stairs seem to be the norm in Chinatown buffets if they are busy. One thing that isn’t pleasant when choosing to dine at a buffet restaurant. Clean and well prepared food. Not a whole lot of choices. No dumplings 🥟 Just fried wonton, so if your looking for dumplings don’t bother. But the oyster 🦪 beef was one of the best dishes on offer if you like beef. Rice fresh and plentiful as well as fried starters. Good for a quick bite but not impressive by any means.

Called in today to eat before a five hour coach journey, and hadn’t eaten properly in a few days (literally just a sandwich the day before so I was hungry!)… Staff are LOVELY. Really really polite, they keep the place clean and they’re really attentive - perfect service. Food however was awful. Most of it completely tasteless and stone cold - and I literally mean stone cold, not even lukewarm in some cases. Don’t get me wrong it’s amazing value for money, £12.75 on a Sunday including my Diet Coke, but just diabolical food.

A big thank you to Mr Wu. I visited with a friend who hasn't made a bowel movement for the last four days. Needless to say, 15 minutes after two plates of Wu`s finest he was relieved of all blockages. Always fun to have my glass taken away from me before I place it on the table. Banging wings though.

I am really surprised to read some of these reviews. I have been here several times and always enjoyed it. Although it means carrying your food downstairs I recommend it as it's much quieter down there and there's no music. Even though the price has increased to £11.95 plus 10% service charge it still represents excellent value for money considering its location (right opposite what is now called the Sondheim Theatre). There is a huge selection of dishes which are constantly replenished. Unlike other establishments nearby the food isn't displayed in the window but you are welcome to go in and have a look before deciding whether to eat there. Each container is clearly labelled so you can leave out what you don't like. I pigged out, starting with vegetable soup then seafood risotto then chicken legs & roast duck with lovely fresh broccoli then salad with hard boiled egg and finally prunes with raspberry blancmange (it's a pity the rest of the fruit is out of a tin), The staff, whom I found perfectly pleasant, gladly gave me a clean plate for each dish. I had a glass of perfectly acceptable red wine with my meal and my companion had a pot of Chinese tea (£1). Chilled tap water was supplied on request.

Visited on the 29/07/21. This place does what it says on the tin. £6.98 (around that) for all you can eat buffet from about a dozen or so dishes. Food tasted great, service was great. It's in Chinatown. You can have just one choice of dish in the same area for 4 x that and that is your choice, but we thought this place was great value for money. Tables were full which says it all.

I think some of the reviews have accidentally been left reviews for this branch instead of the wardour street one. Leaving reviews saying it's good value at £7.95?. This shaftsbury branch is £11.95 which is bordering on being a bit more than I would prefer to pay. But I do go to choose mr wu usually when I want a buffet to eat after visiting theatre or movie as it is cheapest out of all the buffet type restaurants so Mr wu should keep that in mind. The shaftsbury branch I visited has a bit more choice than wardour street branch with a choice of salad and 2 soups which was good. Plus a few more dishes overall which is why I choose it over the wardour street one Next time im in chinatown I will likely choose Mr Wu again as it is competitively priced and quite a nice ambience inside.

Okay so at 7 quid what does anyone expect for goodness sake, we paid as much for a pint in a bar in Convent Garden! If you want quick food as an alternative to cheap burger joints where you can fuel up and move on this is the place to go. If you want to pay exorbitant prices in some of the others with pretty tablecloths and an orange lantern wafting nicely above your head , go for it. The choices are clear and not difficult to work out really.

Obviously, there's a lot of choice in China Town, but a lot of the restaurants had big queues and the menus looked very expensive. We walked straight into this one. It was really nice, good value, near to the theatres and friendly, attentive staff. Only downside is it is cash only! Will definitely be returning!

10.95 eat as much as you like. It's no frills dining. There's alot of choice with some dishes better than others. Lots of deep fried veg and spring rolls, soup to start eyc. The meat dishes and noodles were good, pork and beef were great and to be fair you could eat your money's worth of shrimp. I'd probably go again. Staff were nice enough and just leave you to it. I like cash only places. Even quicker when you want too leave

Passed a few all you can eat buffets in Chinatown, and think this was the cheapest £6.95 to eat in or £5 to take out- wish my local Chinese takeaway food was this nice! Never had such delicious chunks of chicken from a Chinese dish. Prawn crackers were lovely. Drinks very cheap. Yes you are crammed in but its London they’re working with the space they have. Cash only. Would definitely go again when in London 😊

At the low price of the buffet we did not expect anything to write home about. However we were pleasantly surprised when we sat down to eat after payment. The staff were attentive and the food options were changed promptly as they run low. The food quality and taste were terrific, especially the sweet and sour chicken option. Will be eating there again the next time we pass by China town and need somewhere quick to eat.

Easily the worst place I’ve ever eaten at. Food was cold and slimy which was clearly just frozen food from a supermarket re heated. £7.90 seemed cheap but when you go in you will realise it’s a scam. Just disgusting food. It is completely quiet and depressing in the “restaurant” and all you can hear is coughing and sneezing on the food. Kinda explains why I was sick the next day. Anyway I would highly suggest not to go here, just helping you out:)

We had an ok little take away here last night at £5 each. It was all just ‘ok’. Some very tasty bits like the salt and pepper wings, and some average stuff like the soup. It filled a gap.

Visiting London on a Saturday afternoon. Plenty of selection for the 11.95 price, in particular lots of fried chicken wings and fresh seafood/prawns which were popular. The decor and table settings are very basic, it seems nicer to eat downstairs however you will need to climb back upstairs to get more food :)

We we going to see Les Mis & the Restaurant is opposite . It was really busy Saturday Evening but they managed to squeeze us into what I think was more like a large store cupboard .than a room . The restaurant is obviously a buffet & self service & to be fair was it the best Chinese Restaurant we've been to ? No ! but as a quick meal for only £ 10.95 per head with a good selection Maybe ! The restaurant is basic cramped & the service possibly leaves a bit to be desired but surely the real winner is that it's a great place to visit before or after the theatre . With the ques in Chinatown as there often are it is a quick & easy option . The price was just a bonus . Cash only I'd go back especially if going to the theatre & short on time .
