Visited Zeret Kitchen on a Monday afternoon for a late lunch. I went with my mother and we were the only people there at the time. The hostess in the restaurant was very lovely and we chatted away about all things East African. The food came and it was the best injera I've had in a very long time. The... More

Went for a colleague's leaving do. Staff were welcoming and friendly, offering suggestions and advice as to best options to try. We ended up with the shared dish (one for three of us, another for four) - way more than we could manage and all delicious. Would recommend and will definitely go back. Near(ish) tube and lots of buses just... More

We were staying in Hyde Park and as luck would have it, there was a direct bus from where we were to practically outside the restaurant, giving us 45 minutes of lovely London views, Westminster Abbey etc, however, I digress. I booked for 2pm on a Sunday, and when we arrived, there were no customers at all which made me... More

We are so happy to have found Zeret Kitchen. I had the opportunity to try Ethiopian cuisine while working in Detroit years ago and I have yet to find the same authentic flavours - until now. We started with the Kategna - a sort of cross between a crepe and a tortilla covered with a lovely spicy sauce. For our... More

I was fanatical about Ethiopean food for many years, then I started learning about the meat industry and the environment, I had a paradigm shift and went vegan! Alas I wasn't able to find an Ethiopean Restaurant that could properly cater for the new me... until now! This place is mind-blowingly good. I could happily eat there every day for... More

Very glad we stumbled upon Zeret as the food was delicious, and the service was truly wonderful. We wanted spicy and hearty food as it was a cold and wet evening, and we were not disappointed. :)

I had a late lunch in this fantastic Ethiopian restaurant and was blown away by the flavours, the friendliness of the hostess, and the experience (I ate with my hands). The food was simply delicious and had a noteworthy range of tastes. I allowed the hostess to recommend a combination trio of different dishes, one with chicken and two vegetarian... More

Awesome food, hearty portions, friendly staff. I live locally and this is easily one of my two favourite restaurants in the Camberwell/ Denmark Hill to Elephant and Castle area. I'm vegetarian and there is a great selection of vegetarian dishes. I've been to other restaurants that do cuisine from the same region of Africa but Zeret is my favourite. Try... More

Lovers of Ethiopian cuisine and adventurous foodies will appreciate this bright, clean and modern restaurant in Camberwell that prides itself on its family recipes and dedication to authentic Ethiopian traditions. Zeret itself is a name that comes from a small village in northern Ethiopia, and the menu includes mostly chicken, lamb and beef stews made with butter, garlic and ginger served on pancake-like flatbread called enjera. All the food here is delicious, and the dining room is decorated with colourful placemats, potted palms and simple white walls. Perfect for communal/sharing meals with friends and family, the Zeret Kitchen has attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere don't miss the Ethiopian style chicken cooked with green chillies, herbs and spices.
