Real Classic London Pub atmosphere overall, friendly & efficient staff, good menu, specialising in pies, good selection of beers & wine.

We visited this Fullers pub as had nearby hospital appointment at St. Barts. It was a beautiful converted old bank and is a lovely setting for lunch. We had their glorious 'burger and triple fried chips' which was simply amazing and one of the best...burgers we have ever had and thoroughly enjoyable. Will def come back again if we are in the area. The staff were friendly and the service reasonably good.More

Very pleasant pub with great food, our party all enjoyed the dishes they had chosen, especially the pies. We had enjoyed out visit here in the summer and were equally impressed this time. The stag were ftirndly, helpful and obliging.

popped in with a few friends after a walking tour of the area, loved the decor, traditional pub style without the spit and sawdust. Beautifully maintained. The washroom facilities were excellent , up to date, clean and fresh, something that is often lacking in pubs....The meal was very tasty and being a pie and ale house it was nice to try the traditional pie, mash & liquor. I have seen some reviews saying this place is a bit pricey, I didn't find it so compared to the London pubs I have visited before. There was one issue - a mistake on the bill, an extra drink had been delivered which was returned but still remained on the bill, not only was the apology profuse and the item immediately removed from the bill but another item was removed from the bill as compensation. I would definitely go there again.More

My wife works up the road, so thought we would go for a little drink after she finished and was surprised by the prices at the bar, its a bit on the prices side, not to mention the have a beer at £59.75 for 500ml....No joke! But that aside its a lovely place and such a great space, it obviously an old bar that's well looked after none to bad at all.More

So I am down in my Farringdon office every fortnight so try and sample food and drinks outside of the usual Premier Inn Hotel I stay in. This is across the road and on ahot summers day the inside is empty and the outside is...rammed (usually around 60+ people) Once you dodge the full or broken glasses you will be okay but watch out for the downhill steep toilets that are really not that big to swing a cat in. The service and cleanliness was spot on but tbh not impressed with the food versus the cost. A typical pint of Peroni was £5.95 and the farmhouse salad platter as per the picture was £15. Real lack of ham (1 slice) no real dressing 9f saucea for it but my concern was I requested no tomatoes as I am allergic and instead revieved what looks like about 3 million of the things 🤦‍♂️ Did complain but all I got was "sorry" from the waiter and that was it. Good job I don't suffer from a more allergic reaction right. Anyway I think another slice of ham would. Not have hurt and maybe 2 choices of cheese. Disappointed really in honesty.More

Thank you for taking the time to review us. I'm glad to hear the service was great, and will make sure this is passed on to the team. The issue regarding the tomatoes sounds concerning, although I have tried to investigate and have been unable...More

We visited for lunch whilst on a coach outing to the area. Reasonable choice on menu with a lot of choices of pies. Service was quick and staff friendly and helpful.. Prices not cheap with over £15 for a pie and £5.50 for a pint...of beer with a service charge on top.More

Thank you for taking the time to review. We feel our prices reflect the cost and quality of the ingredients, combined with the location - so it is unfortunate you didn't totally agree. All the pies are £15 and we do offer deals on Mondays...More

Traditional London pub near St Barts. Whilst there are other things on the menu they have a great pie section- served with chips or mash- the pies are individually made and are fresh and filled with quality ingedients. Great pastry too. Effcient and friendly service.

Super place near Smithfield Market for a sunny evening pint with work colleagues. Plenty of staff behind the bar, so serves quickly. Busy enough for a decent atmosphere, but pretty chilled also. Good pub grub too

Had lunch here today. The venison casserole with blue cheese dumpling and root vegetables was absolutely delicious. Very flavoursome with little lardons in the delicious sauce. Can’t wait to eat here again! Service good. Reasonable waiting time . Staff very helpful and friendly. Good choice...of dishes on the menu including a range of pies, and a cassoulet with Toulouse sausage.More
