I had not been here before and had only just become aware of it. I went with a friend on a weekday evening for dinner. The food was delicious. My main course was steak and scallops with asparagus. I asked for the steak rare and my friend ordered medium rare and we both got 3xactly what we asked for and the scallops, which can be tricky were also perfectly cooked. The service was charming and helpful. My only slight reservation is that the acoustics of the place made it rather noisy. If you are in the area give it a try

A truly remarkable lunch. Highly recommend. The best seafood risotto I've ever had (and I've been fortunate enough to have a few). With a rich buttery grano pagano sauce, sweet and cooked to perfection prawns, soft and not rubbery squid and finely sliced chilli that was not overpowering. Topped with chives and parsley and edible flowers, this dish looked and tasted ravishing and it was a decent portion size for the cost. The restaurant was ambient, not too noisy, clean and warm (on a cold rainy day) and had a sophisticated and yet charming atmosphere. Thank you so much. Will definitely come back!!

We were staying at the nearby Raynes Park Travelodge so booked this interesting sounding restaurant. We were not disappointed! It was a warm evening so many diners were sat outside but we had a cool and roomy table inside. We both had king prawn starters which were sensational. These were washed down with 2 for 1 cocktails - even at 7:15 pm. For the main course I was delighted with the rib-eye steak and my wife loved her fish. I was frankly full after that so declined the dessert menu but my wife's choice was delivered with a candle and an accompanying chorus of 'Happy Birthday' - she had mentioned to a waitress we were there as part of a celebration weekend! We look forward to arranging another visit hopefully next month when we next go to visit our grandchildren.

A group of us met up for a birthday lunch. Three of us ordered the grilled chicken with yogurt and lentils which sounded delicious on the menu. I asked the waiter if the chicken was freshly cooked to order and was assured that it was. Unfortunately, the chicken was so tough it was difficult to cut! We did not complain at the time as we did not want to spoil the occasion but the chicken was definitely precooked and REHEATED to a slightly warm temperature. Such a shame as it only takes a few minutes to cook a thin chicken breast fresh and it makes all the difference.

Perhaps a rainy Sunday morning was not the best time to go for brunch at this busy restaurant, but we did and will not return. We made a reservation in advance but when we arrived were asked to share a table with another group! We declined and were found another table after about 5 minutes. The restaurant was way too busy in the current climate, people queuing close to each other in the door way (granted wearing masks) tables too close together and restrictions were out of the control of the management and staff. Felt very unsafe but we had guests arriving who had had a hours drive to join us and so we decided to stay. That was a mistake. Food was less than average/poor, price was extremely high for the standard of food offered. Not a enjoyable experience and not one we will repeat.

I’ve had coffee and pastries here a few times in the past, decent coffee and the pastries have been fine, today I thought I would treat myself to a full English, bizarrely the “full English” was covered in coriander cress, it was everywhere, in the eggs, on the sausages, bacon, even the beans couldn’t avoid the coriander crucifixion, and to top it off, the rest of the plate was covered in green oil on containing coriander. No mention of coriander on the menu, when I spoke to the waitress regarding this, she agreed and struggled to understand why the cook does this. A few pennies short of 15 for a coffee and full English, disappointing to be fair.

A lovely meal on a Saturday evening. Served by friendly, helpful and professional staff. Impressed that our temperatures were taken before being allowed in the restaurant. Once seated we were asked very nicely if we we would mind giving them our names and addresses and contact numbers which again impressed us. The selection of food although not vast is very nice with a good mix of all types of food.

I dined here with friends for brunch today; it was our first experience of Babylon 76-78. Despite an initial slight mix up with our booking, we ended up with a nice table outside which we were more comfortable with as it was quite busy inside the restaurant. We ordered 2 veggie breakfasts and one of the zucchini fritters and were really impressed; the food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We also ordered coffees and fresh juices. We had a great experience and I'd definitely recommend.

We are very lucky to have Babylon as a local restaurant and have enjoyed many lovely lunches and coffees/teas there. This time we ordered takeaway burgers direct from the restaurant (with free delivery) to celebrate my son's birthday. The portions were very generous (only my husband managed to finish his chips) and absolutely delicious. We also thought they were very good value. A lovely lockdown treat!

An excellent night at Babylon for our year group Christmas party. Had the whole venue to ourselves for 100 people. Good value inclusive price for unlimited house red/white wine, beer and soft drinks and very plentiful substantial tasty canapes. Staff were very accommodating even when numbers dipped below agreed price. Great night!

We had a family lunch at Babylon Sunday 3rd July. The lunch menu has enough to keep most diners interested, but an exception is kebab. There's no kebabs. The service is friendly and the food very good (the Chicken burger is excellent). It's in SW20 so premium price, but even so almost ÂŁ6 for a 330 Ml bottle of beer is a bit steep. All ages are catered for (from prams to zimmers) and it's obvious that Babylon is a community hub. Recommended.

There was much hype about this cafe so my family decided to try. The tap water was warm and the glass was dirty. I ordered the English breakfast but the egg white was undercooked, my mother had ordered a coffee with took more than 15 mins then ordered another one thinking that the other one wasn’t coming. Then when the waiters finally came, they blamed my mum for ordering twice and had to through the coffee away. From then on the atmosphere decreased dramatically. We payed the overpriced bill and left.

I have visited this establishment a few times. First experiences were faultless. Great staff, lovely ambience ,good food. I gave glowing reviews on trip advisor. However the last couple of times I have been in, I have been very disappointed. My poached egg was raw, which quite frankly put me off them completely, I haven't had one since. After speaking to the waiter about it....nothing, no apology, no replacement offered, nada. I didn't demand my money back, I thought I'd leave it up to the management to offer it...no customer service skills whatsoever. Blank faces. I decided not to come back to this place for a while, until last Monday with a friend ,who apparently is a regular. Well, to my dismay, I had another bad experience. The calamari that I ordered, came beautifully presented, I couldn't wait to tuck in. Yummy start, albeit rubbery until the 3rd ring. It had stringy bits which I wanted to spit out but swallowed. Then the same thing happened to the next ring . It left me feeling extremely nauseous and like I wanted to throw up. I told this to the waiter, he said nothing, then remarkably offered me more of the same!? I told him I was seriously feeling very ill after eating the dish and to make sure others weren't having the same experience. Again , no apology, no speaking to the chef to find out if there was a less than fresh squid being cooked. I can not believe the unprofessionalism of the wait staff. They do seem polite and courteous, but what is the policy when this happens? Then to top it off, again, this dish was not taken off the bill. So I had to pay for the privilege to feel sick the whole day for what should have been some delicious calamari. It really has made me want to give this place a wide berth for good. I do not know if the wait staff pass on any complaints about the food to the chef, the manager, anyone who cares about the restaurant's reputation. What amazes me is why this place is always so full. I have spoken to a few friends and quite a few have had similar experiences. I will not be going here again or recommend it to ANYONE There are plenty of other places to eat.

We recently visited Babylon 76-78 for the first time and had a reasonable breakfast. We decided to return for their “Lunch Special” which is advertised on their website. After ordering our drinks we were advised by the waitress that the menu was not available. We spoke to the Manager who confirmed that this menu has not been available for over a year. We asked why it is still being advertised as we had booked in advance particularly due to the offer. The Manager was unhelpful and reiterated that the menu/offer was not available and that the website had not been updated for over a year. We paid for our drinks and left to eat elsewhere in Raynes Park, where we had a fantastic evening. Due to the manner in which this matter was handled and the attitude of the staff, we certainly won’t be returning.

This restaurant situated across the road from Raynes Park rail station offers a good choice of dishes with a noticeable Mediterranean influence. Despite being aware of its popularity our party of three failed to make the usual table reservation for the Wednesday lunch. Unfortunately, upon arrival all available seating on the outside terrace had been taken, but after receiving a warm welcome we were allocated a cozy corner window table. Having settled into our comfortable seats we were then left for some 15-20 minutes on our own during which time we observed later arrivals were being attended to. After complaining and apologies received, we ordered seafood risotto (prawns, calamari, and fresh chilli) and pan seared seabass (served with new potatoes, green beans, and a butter caper sauce). To accompany the dishes our drinks consisted of a large glass of Macedonian white wine, a Rossini strawberry cocktail, and a tonic water. Espresso coffee completed the picture. My fellow diners enjoyed their risotto as I did the seabass. However, I felt that the latter was perhaps a trifle overdone. It was, nonetheless, delicious. The earlier delay was attributed to a genuine oversight in what was a very busy lunch period. Apart from that, the staff were courteous and friendly, and the ambience and general buzz of the restaurant in a relaxing environment made for a pleasant interlude.
