Despite near closing time these legends let us jump in and got our order in before the kitchen closed. Pizzas were to die for the cheese was cheesing and it was a great environment. Waiting staff were all friendly and they boxed up any left overs so we could have cold pizza for breakfast. Bonus!

During our stay in London, booked via Voyage Privé, we had a reservation planned for 4 at the Japes in the Soho district. It was a great discovery. The restaurant, whose decoration is superb and refined, accepted us immediately when we introduced ourselves. The waiter was very pleasant and recommended the pizzas which are the house specialty. As mentioned in the various comments below, the pizzas are more than generous and tasty! We feasted. The children had little appetite that day - stopping at M&Ms just before... - so the waiter offered us boxes to bring what they hadn't eaten. A very good address, we recommend!

We reserved a table before our visit and we did well. Very warm welcome, the staff is attentive and accompanies you throughout the meal. Pizzas seem small to the eye but be careful, it is on the verge of a pie so perfect for those with a sweet tooth. Of course the main thing was there: It’s good! Financially very affordable. I recommend the experience Thank you for the warm welcome.

We visited on a lunchtime where the restaurant was busy but not overly so . Ordered a salad as a starter and 2 pizzas as our main meal pizza sauce as a side . Specifically asked for the salad to come out first to find that it was served with the pizzas . Pizzas were not hot and we asked for these to be re heated . Sauce came out 20 mins after the pizzas 🙄. To the credit of the manager he said new pizzas would be made so we waited another 25 mins for our food . Take 2 food was hot and tasty . The problem with such a disorganised service was that we couldn’t enjoy the food . To the credit of the manager he apologised for the shambolic service . Couldn’t take off the service charge to settle the bill without speaking to waiting staff so we just paid it . The restaurant didn’t deserve this and it shouldn’t require a pay at Table option where this couldn’t be removed easily .

The biggest clue should’ve been how empty it was. We still went in, only to be served by someone who was so miserable you’d think we asked for the blood of his first born. For a place with only six other customers it took a disproportionate length of time for our food to arrive. The pizza was ok. Not great, but not bad. When it came to the (thankful) end of our visit we were told to scan a QR code to pay. This had already added the service charge (as seems the norm in London now) but no option to remove it. It stated it went to the staff, but in light of poor service I did not want to pay this. Worse was to come. In spite of the compulsory service charge, the legality of which is questionable, it then went on to ask if we would like to add a tip. At the time, I did not add a tip. Now though, I will add a tip to the staff; smile, do NOT make a service charge compulsory and certainly do not add insult to injury by asking for more. My tip to future potential customers is this: go to Rudys. It is infinitely better. Thankfully Japes is the sort of place which will be gone within two years. Hopefully sooner.

Came to try this on a recommendation. We had a reservation thankfully as it was extremely busy. Music was very loud and service was quite slow. We had 2 London style and 1 deep pan veggie pizza. The London style ones were very good although quite difficult to cut but the deep pan was all crust with a load of sloppy vegetables in the middle. It wasn’t in the least bit nice. Bit disappointing and wouldn’t come again. There are better pizza places close by.

I had come here maybe 4 years ago and found the food quite underwhelming. It hasn’t changed, the decor has been updated which looks great and the servers were very attentive and knowledgeable, interacting with them was an enjoyable experience. The music was SO loud, we could barely hear each other which made our dinner quite awkward. But the food! Just sloppy bland and extortionate prices. I had a vegetarian pizza, Chicago style, as someone who has had deep dish in Chicago before I can tell you it isn’t anything like the original. It’s so expensive too, don’t waste your money here,

Food was overrated so cheesy it made me feel sick. The restaurant was hot so couldn’t eat properly. Get some fans! Customer service didn’t exist staff were beige. Go somewhere else.

This is definitely a venue you go to for the pizza and to share time with someone, there is very little atmosphere and the wait staff barely even look up to see if you want anything, let alone come to the table and ask. I wasn’t even sure how the ordering worked at first, as the person who ‘greeted’ us pointed at the direction to follow them, put the menus down and walked off. The pizza is good, but very heavy, not necessarily a bad thing (writing this a few hours later and I am still very full up) but that’s it- the sides are basic and the starters left little to be desired. The drinks again, were rather basic. And for what it was it was expensive as well, so basically we where ignored for good pizza and then I had to sell a kidney. The lack of any attention from the staff and the under average sides and starts made the pizza less awesome- which is a shame. But for something to just grab and if you are going for one thing with a friend or whatever, go for it.

I've made a concerted effort over the last several years to find the best pizza in London, and this might be it. I had the Buffala on a London crust, and it was savoury, rich, flavourful, and perfectly cooked. The sundried tomatoes added bursts of flavour, and the mozzarella was very generous. It took about fifteen minutes to come out, so it's not too slow if you're on a business lunch, and there is plenty of seating. You can order and pay from a QR code at the table if you want things to move faster.

We booked for lunch, they first tried to squeeze five of us onto four person table but were happy for us to move to a more appropriate spot. Pizza was nice, dips were good too but expensive £1.95 for a small pot and £3.50 for a can of coke?! I know it’s London but still? Service was fine but lacklustre, staff eager to clear plates when others were still eating, didn’t ask if meal was ok or if we needed anything else but were quick to ask to leave a review. Unfortunately nothing special.

As others have said, the pizza is interesting (and interesting enough that it made a nice change and was tasty). However - the ‘wedges’ were not as advertised and ‘appeared’ to be more akin to domestic oven chips. In fairness to the restaurant they immediately took the cost off our bill but it shouldn’t have come to that (as in, warn customers prior) and not having tasty wedges to go with the pizza did detract from our experience. The waitress was lovely and very good.

Had lunch and dinner during my stay in London. The place is extremely popular (and not tourists) so thats an endorsement in itself. I didnt make a reservation, but they sat me very quickly. The second dinner time I did make a reservation and was pretty much seated immediately, in a packed joint. It was reccomended to me to get whatever pizza I decided, but prepared "London Style", which, to me, was like deep dish but with more cheese and less crust. It was awesome, and its enough to fill any appetitte. Translation: they dont skimp. The pizza was so good I ended up going a total of 4 times within a 6-day period. I will certainly visit again and anytime I am in London. Do yourself a solid and check it out, you'll 100% be glad you did.

From the moment we walked in it was a great experience. The lady on the front desk, can't remember her name, blonde spiky hair ( not Natasha) was really welcoming and helpful. Seating our party inside instead of our original outside booking. Every single member of staff was happy to help and looked like they enjoyed working there. A bright bubbly vibe at the place and really contemporary decor. Te food itself was delicious one pizza to share between two was enough for us, as we had delicious nachos to share for a starter. The bill for 6 including drinks ( some alcoholic) was £100. The food was first class. A terrific experience and we will definitely go again.

We popped in for a coffee after the theatre as it looked nice. The waitress first insisted that we could only have drinks if we also had did, but struggled to accommodate the 5 of us despite it being half empty. She did exactly not have a 'solutions oriented approach', but with some help we found a way. The coffee selection is poor. Just espresso or Americano, but no decaf option and NO MILK. Seriously. No milk of any description. I don't know if they are trying to make some kind of point, but if they are, it's a weird and unnecessary one. Anyway, we ordered drinks and some chips. The chips came out and were quite dry so we asked for ketchup. But guess what? No ketchup either! Super weird, but they offered some tomatoey, salsa like sauce which was ok, but no good for the kids. It came out in a tiny pot which wasn't enough even for the few of us who were using it. Then the bill came and we were disappointed to see we had been charged £2 for the dribble of tomato as well as 12.5% for the jobsworth service. Poor. Would not recommend.

Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
