5/5* - the food was really tasty and the staff was friendly. Only thing is that it is a little loud but apart from that it was really good.

We are a family of four who made a booking last minute over the phone, the kind gentleman took our order and got our eta and as soon as we sat in the seats the food was served by such a wonderful waitress! Caring, attentive...and polite to the point my daughter who is 11 mentioned how good a waitress she was- her name was Moona please excuse the spelling!! Thanks again Japes! Btw the food is incredibly filling my eldest son left only the Parmesan crust which was a feat in itself, the rest of us had half a pizza 😅 If you like cheese and tomato sauce packed full of flavour this is your spot!!More
Stumbled across this pizzeria by accident. Would thoroughly recommend. The pizzas are really tasty. No long waiting times either. We visited on a Tuesday evening so I have no idea what it's like at the weekends but for us it was great. The waiting staff...are attentive, drinks arrived promptly and the lovely waitress we had was friendly and smiley throughout our vist. Pizzas arrived promptly and piping hot. We will defo go back when we are in the area.More
What an amazing pizza I had with friends, liked it so much I went back in the evening and brought two more to take home. Served by a lovely staff member who was friendly and very helpful
Such a lovely restaurant, not my favourite street but the restaurant stands out in the street. Beautiful lights and decor, just perfect for photos. Pizza was the highlight of my dinner, also because I was starving. Nachos were good, nothing special. The manager was lovely...checking on everyone but he was also front of the house which made it seem like the restaurant was a little short staffed. I was waiting half an hour for a friend which didn’t bother the manager at all, specially on a Saturday when people were queueing up walking in and out with every second that went by. If you like a nice cheesy warm pizza this place is for you. Dips is a completely different story- do not order them unless it’s ketchup for your chips. Myself and my friend left the sauces untouched because of how bad they were but we didn’t expect to pay for something that tasted so foul. Thought out of the two, we’d only have to pay for one but wasn’t the caseMore
Jovana from the Japes team was very responsive and even called to check I was happy with the table setup, since we had a toddler in the group. The forest truffle pizza was delicious but my favourite was the margherita - can't beat the simple...combo of cheese, tomato sauce, basil and olive oil. The pizzas are very filling - don't be deceived by the size! I'd consider sharing next time, especially for the more indulgent option like the truffle pizza. I've been before and I'll definitely go back!More
Excellent tasty deep pan pizzas, reminded us of the Chicago pie factory pizza we use to visit years ago. Staff were very friendly and service was great
Great pizza, great drinks! Staff around just when you need them. Price was reasonable. Will definitely visit again.
My daughter and I went there earlier this month and were blown away. It is rich and unusual, so forget it if you want a dry pizza, but the flavours are incredible. The staff were very polite and allowed us to take the rest home....Even nicer the next day 😊More
This food here was superb. A different way of serving pizza but first class taste. Felt our server could have brought a bit more cheer to the experience but it didn’t spoil the food
I visited Japes with a friend after hearing lots of amazing things. I was so excited. The pizza itself looked okay on presentation but then I decided to attempt to eat it. Wow- I could only describe it as a sloppy mess. So much so...I could barely get the food in my mouth as it was all just mush that was falling everywhere. I could barely eat the thing, great idea and terrible execution. The waitress was so cold and rude, I don’t think she smiled the whole 40 minutes I was there, she looked so fed up when we asked for anything. Worth a trip but won’t be visiting again. Soz.More
Great pizza and choice of dips! Filled to the brim with toppings and cheese! Food deserves a 5 star rating. However, the waitress we had was attentive but low key aggressive and the bathrooms need an update. Overall, would recommend!
We came as a group of 8 and the owner Jovana was incredibly accommodating and we are all so grateful. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Patient to care for our needs and questions, making sure we were having the best experience. The food!...OMG, this is a pilgrimage for gooey cheese lovers that want that Chicago deep pie experience, not that sourdough style which can be found everywhere. Our table was cared for by Brigitta and a Spanish guy and of course we left them both a huge tip! Btw, their cocktails are incredibly underrated so kudos to the barman! Will definitely be returningMore
Although the pizzas are tasty and well cooked, they are very heavy and left us feeling lethargic. Maybe this is simply personal preference, but give me a neopolitsn pizza over these deep pans any day of the week. I don't think that this will be the next...food craze ,but like I say they are tasty.More
Nachos were very basic - cold with ranch dressing and cherry tomatoes. Chips lacked flavour and Luke warm - asked for some mayo to be told I would have to pay for it. Before the pizza arrived a rodent was spotted running around the floor...of the restaurant. The staff didn’t seem to care and 1 waiter was later heard discussing me with other customers saying I had over reacted to the rodent sighting. The food was average but the service was dreadful, the waitress took off the service charge as a good will gesture - not good enough.More
