Called into this restaurant on our way to the British museum for a quick today. Very cosy and friendly. Nice food, served well. Well worth a visit and not to expensive either!!

I thought this was a chezzy old style italian style restaraunt that was overpriced with average quality food. The night after I ate I the Amalfi I dined at the Ivy. A bowl of risotto and a glass of vino at the Ivy was the same price as the Amalfi. I know which I preferred.

Went here with my wife to meet some of her friends. There were six of us and the long table made it hard to share. A round would have been better for a group. We had the salmon and avocado salad which was good but the salmon appetizer that her friends had looked much nicer. We had the special pizza... More

This was a meeting of authors, some of whom had met each other before, others only on line! The welcome was warm, the table ready for us, with a generous gift of wine from our publishers, waiting to be poured. There's a great menu, with plenty of choice and a sense of eating a home-cooked meal. I was coerced into... More

After the long flight to London from San Francisco, we were tired and hungry. We pre-booked reservations for Old Amalfi and enjoyed our meals, very much. They were very accommodating: We were provided with a separate area (for our group of 8) and separate checks. I had the Pasta Puttanesca, which was excellent and I craved for the rest of... More

Visited twice in the last week during a pleasurable stay in London. We first visited late Tuesday afternoon, where my partner and I shared the stater a trio of tasty pate's on bread: Calf's Liver, Pea and Olive. The Olive pate was incredible lovely flavor. For a main I had the broccoli and Italian sausage pasta which was absolutely stunning,... More

Promised my wife, after reading the reviews on the Turkish restaurant next door we would go for her 40th. Realised after we were directed in by the man on the door we were in the wrong place, however, like good english citizens we felt we had to stay. To leave would have been rude. Service good, food good and good... More

This is a basic but very good Italian eatery. The food is consistently good and offers great value. The pizzas are hand stretched, thin and crispy. The risottos and opulent and very flavoursome. my personal favourites are the Bruschetta and the Pork Loin.

The place and the service is really good. Friendly and attentive. Reading the other reviews we had hopes that this place could live up to the same experience as Amalfi on Old Compton street, which is now closed. However, we unfortunately didn't get the taste experience we had hoped for. As an example the Tiramisu were topped with something like... More

I have just eaten the BEST vegetarian ravioli. EVER. If Italians eat here it's got to be good. It is. Try and you won't be disappointed

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
