I go to school right around the corner a d always saw this place but never went by. Food was pretty good to be honest and I thought the waiting staff was great. Ordered the bruschetta to start. I thought this would be small but its actually a good size so I recommend sharing it with one another person. Also... More

If you are looking for an unpretentious Italian restaurant with good value food and wine and you are in the area of Russell Square - look no further. Something of a 'Tardis', small outside but spacious inside. Friendly helpful staff and great atmosphere. Full of local Italian families and an eclectic mix of tourists and Londoners. Happy to mix the... More

I found this excellent little Italian restaurant quite accidentally. Having had a lovely lunch I'm sure I'll be back. Service was welcoming and prompt. My frittura mista was delicious and so was the Chianti.

Medium sized, apparently, family run traditional italian restaurant. Good quality food delivered in a friendly and efficient manner Spaghetti al Cartoccio excellent - overflowing with prawns, mussels and calamari. Recommended

Called into this restaurant on our way to the British museum for a quick today. Very cosy and friendly. Nice food, served well. Well worth a visit and not to expensive either!!

I thought this was a chezzy old style italian style restaraunt that was overpriced with average quality food. The night after I ate I the Amalfi I dined at the Ivy. A bowl of risotto and a glass of vino at the Ivy was the same price as the Amalfi. I know which I preferred.

Went here with my wife to meet some of her friends. There were six of us and the long table made it hard to share. A round would have been better for a group. We had the salmon and avocado salad which was good but the salmon appetizer that her friends had looked much nicer. We had the special pizza... More

This was a meeting of authors, some of whom had met each other before, others only on line! The welcome was warm, the table ready for us, with a generous gift of wine from our publishers, waiting to be poured. There's a great menu, with plenty of choice and a sense of eating a home-cooked meal. I was coerced into... More

After the long flight to London from San Francisco, we were tired and hungry. We pre-booked reservations for Old Amalfi and enjoyed our meals, very much. They were very accommodating: We were provided with a separate area (for our group of 8) and separate checks. I had the Pasta Puttanesca, which was excellent and I craved for the rest of... More

Visited twice in the last week during a pleasurable stay in London. We first visited late Tuesday afternoon, where my partner and I shared the stater a trio of tasty pate's on bread: Calf's Liver, Pea and Olive. The Olive pate was incredible lovely flavor. For a main I had the broccoli and Italian sausage pasta which was absolutely stunning,... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
