Just finished what they call a large English breakfast. Food was served wrong, asked for a few changes. Bacon was cold had an old baked bean stuck in a cold egg. Fresh orange was warm. Was charged the wrong amount for the food. Staff who served us was not friendly. Dreadful meal will not eat in here again.

I have been to this pub so many times and have probably spent a few quid over the years. But alas after my visit this week when I complained about a hair being in my pint I will no longer be visiting. My problem with this, is not the fact there was a hair, (ok things happen) but to be... More

Thought id nip in here for lunch as i didn't have much time to spare. Bare in mind it was 1430 there were barely any tables left-i found a stall on a sideboard purporting to be a table, then had to walk round the pub twice to try and find a menu. Ordering at the bar was quick but the... More

Situated opposite the Tower of London this is a good value Wetherspoons pub. Unfortunately they only had two bar staff working upstairs in a busy bar so there was quite a wait to be served. However the food arrived more quickly and was tasty.

We landed here on the way back to our hotel and having already eaten at Butlers Wharf, just over the bridge. It was very busy and the atmosphere was great. We found seats so settled in for the night ( at an age now where we like to here each other speak.... well most of the time 😊) but was... More

Good value food and drinks. This one is in a great location close to the Tower of London. If you go upstairs and sit at a balcony table you can get views out of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Easy walking distance from Monument tube station. Quirky olde-world decor and busy lively atmosphere. Wasn't overly busy even on... More

We were stopping at the Double Tree Hilton and decided to call in here for dinner. Just had a burger and chips and have to say good as ever. You get what you pay for but you can't knock it. The atmosphere was great and very busy. Loved the place and well worth a visit.

This pub is located convenient to the Tower of London. I was concerned from the exterior and location that it was a formal restaurant, but was pleased to find a warm pub inside. We had fish and chips and a meat pie lunch and everything was perfect. Great ambiance and good beer hit the spot.

A fun place to go lots of atmosphere, as always excellent service. You know what you're getting good value for your pound. It was Curry night and to be honest it was very very good I have been a number of times and I'm never disappointed. It's not top end but your not paying top end.

Thank Martin G

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
