Ive just returned from a professional meeting at this place. Very good ambience, good service, and quite good food. Its not for the budget traveller - unless having a splurge on something 'posh'.

I've had afternoon tea at the hotel before and was impressed with the ambience, food and service. I decided to take my friend to the hotel for afternoon tea as a birthday treat, sadly we were disappointed by our experience. The service was slow and not very attentive. We ordered refills of sandwiches (they give 4 for each person), normally... More

This review is for the Afternoon Tea. We chose The Kensington as we were looking for something a little fancier than what we'd normally get in a cafe. We thought The Kensington sounded perfect after much research. We made the necessary reservations in anticipation of what we hoped would be a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, that's not what we received. First,... More

My sister and I were staying at this hotel and wanted to experience an afternoon tea. We were very happy we chose our own hotel for this experience. The service was attentive and informative. The environment was cozy and comfortable and the food and tea were delicious.

We arrived around 8pm on a Saturday night and to our surprise we were seated immediately. We had lemon sole, the lobster truffle pasta and lamb. All the meals were cooked perfectly and priced very well. I almost did not write this review as eventually, word will get out and I won't be able to walk in on any night... More

Visited the Town House for breakfast this weekend, and it did not disappoint! I had visited before for Sunday lunch, and was pleasantly surprised when the dining experience surpassed expectations once more! Food was utterly delicious in wonderfully cosy surroundings (open fire was a big plus!) that offered a welcome reprieve from the bristly autumnal London weather. Above all, service... More

This hotel restaurant is a gem at all times and something of a steal for a quiet Sunday lunch. For those not on expense accounts value for money is an important factor when assessing a restaurant and unfortunately this establishment is normally fully priced. However the pleasantness of the surroundings, the quality of the mainly English fare and the excellent... More

We had a lovely afternoon tea at The Kensington Hotel. The staff were very kind and thoughtful, explaining all the food and teas as they arrived, and offering to take our photo. The food was gorgeous, a good mix of afternoon tea classics. And the teas were very good quality! We didn't feel rushed, and we loved the setting, very... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
