We stayed at the hotel Tavistock and decided to pop in for a few drinks before going back to the room. The place was nicely presented and clean, the staff were really pleasant and drinks prices were reasonable.

Located on the corner of the Tavistock Hotel and serves pre-prepared and reheated meals. For a quick drink or a snack its fine but there are better dining options and pubs close by.

I had a really nice meal here. A great choice of starters (I chose the carrot and coriander soup which arrived with lots of crusty bread which I had to use my sense and ration to two slices, my main course was roasted vegetables and goats cheese which was lovely but the portion was huge so I had to leave... We have dined at Jaques several times and nor been disappointed. There is a wide choice of wines at prices which indicate other wine bars are profiteering. The food - from an interesting menu was to our satisfaction; and so we're the prices!

I was staying at the Tavistock hotel which this bar is linked to. The staff were very friendly and even more helpful. There is a wide range of drinks available in the wine bar, it looked clean and tidy and wasn't too loud. They also serve food. I am on crutches and was in a lot of pain, the staff... More

Meal: The service was polite and speedy. I ordered the goats cheese and aubergine as a starter, the goats cheese was cooked to my liking but the aubergine didnt taste of anything, but I've never had it before so I'm not sure if its supposed to - either way it didnt really compliment the goats cheese. The salad dressing wasa... More

Tasteless, 4 different meals, lukewarm, microwaved and soggy. They had the cheek to charge £4 for Diet Coke that was like water.Never again. Strange orange salad dressing with everything and rice was cold. Inedible.

My friends and I ate here as we had first night dinner included with our hotel stay. We were in a hurry and the service was a bit slow at first. My friend asked for two different glasses of house white wine to be told that they were not available and there supplier had not offered them alternatives. You get... More

Basic unimaginative food, but at a reasonable cost and served by pleasant helpful staff. The fish was tasty and cooked just right.

I ate here pre-theatre while staying at the Tavistock Hotel. One of the worst meals I've ever been given. Chicken thick, hard and full of gristle. Potatoes cooked more than once with a bad taste and hard, old looking carrots. The Pinot wasn't up to much either. A really unpleasant dinner but running short of time to get to the... More

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum.
