Booked a table online, which was easy to do. Staff very nice. We ordered food, which was very average. The Caesar salad was missing its anchovies and the chicken was really not good. I would recommend the pub, but not the food.

We were staying in the Premier Inn about 150 yards away and called in here on the way out and on the way home on a few occasions. Bright and clean traditional pub that serves food and has an outdoor area. Had a few draught beers and LJ had lagers which we both enjoyed. People were having food which looked nice. Good pub and atmosphere and we will be back.

We called in here back in June 2022, late one evening for a few drinks. The place was very pleasant and there was live music.
So, on arranging to meet some old colleagues last week, I suggested we met up here before going on to our destination. The place doesn't actually open until 12.00 noon but they let you come in and wait.
At the stroke of 12.00 all five of us went to the bar. Great beer, great wine, great atmosphere. Highly recommended. It does get rather busy on some evenings.

We’d been to this pub quite a few times before and were always happy with the food ( basic pub food) and service.
We had booked a table and as one member of the group had a gluten intolerance we had checked on their webpage that this could be catered for. When we asked about this we were rudely told that it didn’t matter what it said on the website they had no gluten free rolls or anything else!! No suggestions no apology just a curt reply. We then ordered some nachos and some mains. Given that the menu clearly stated mains we assumed that the nachos would arrive first. This was not the case and the nachos arrived with the mains. When we asked about this, the same member of staff told us very rudely that they don’t do starters. Again no apology or explanation. Some of the meals were fine however some were just edible and none were piping hot. We decided against any further interaction with the member of staff as we felt he just couldn’t be bothered. This is a shame as on previous occasions we had good experiences and friendly service, however as there are lots of alternative places to eat and drink we won’t be returning here.

We went here on a Friday in mid-January. The place was busy and we had a bad experience. It took forever to order drinks as 3 bartenders were all laughing and chatting and ignoring people waiting to order at the bar. Got our drinks and had the exact cash to give him but he pushed the card machine in front of us. Told him we wanted to pay with cash, then he scurries down the bar and brings a little chalk board saying card only. We said nothing was on the door nor nobody could see such a silly sign at a crowded bar. We said: no thanks, if you don't want our cash we're leaving; which we did. On our way out he came running around the bar all flustered and grabbed my arm and said he would check if the till was opened (which means you take cash and must make it up as you go). Told him he shouldn't have grabbed my arm and told him that was a disgusting thing to do to a customer; then he proceeded to call us disgusting and other words, really pitiful! Live not that far away and will NEVER return. Can't recommend and I would avoid this place.

Subject: Concerns Regarding Customer Service and Pricing at Windmill Pub

Absolutely the worst pint of Fullers I have ever had. As flat a a pancake. Bar staff are too interested in talking to each other than clearing tables that are full of dirty plates. Give it a wide berth if in than area.

Literally at 23:05 the bartender was in everyone's faces telling us to leave. They'll happily sell you overpriced beer but they won't give you time to drink it.

Dreadful Sunday Lunch: drinks fine and average London price; staff good and friendly, Sunday lunch poor and much of it inedible (and we are unfussy and were hungry!): whole meal lukewarm; beef fatty, gelatinous, not just pink but effectively undercooked (and we like our beef bloody!), and tricky to cut; roast potatoes large and like boiled potatoes; Yorkshire pudding like cardboard; cauliflower cheese tender, but unbrowned, watery and tasteless; carrots ok; gravy watery and flavourless. We are what we could and not being asked how our meal was, took our plates in (we'd been outside) reporting to the staff we'd eaten what we could but had left what we had because the meal was dreadful and somewhat inedible. They were sorry to hear that and left it there. Hence this review.

Went in for a drink. Apparently refurbished recently. Very clean and bright, the cleanest pub I've ever been in. The staff were friendly. Pleasant place to sit.

Best pub in Waterloo. Cheapest prices, nicest, most friendly staff. I have been to most of the pubs in this area and Windmill is definitely the best
