Wasn't expecting too much as we had booked a pre-theatre diinner. What we had thought would be a 3 course meal turned out to be a buffet which in the end was good value for money.Service was very good and efficient. Kudos to Shane for making us feel extremely welcome. Well worth the price for an early pre-theatre meal.

Have you ever, in your life, been to a carvery that didn't serve roast potatoes? I have. It was The Old Masters restaurant. Located in the main dining room at the Rubens Hotel, the Olds Masters is five star in terms of its surroundings, with attentive service, tasteful old world decoration and clean linens. Service is ostentatious, with waitresses conveying... More

Ideal place to dine before a show at the St. James Theatre. The carvery is just the thing if you want to eat fairly quickly. Pleasant service. Comfortable old fashioned dining room. Roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding delicious from the carvery. Starters and vegetables accompanying the main course a little dried out under the fierce lights but the meat made... More

Loved the treat of being able to do a Sunday roast lunch for a weekday dinner! Although because it IS a buffet, good advice would be to go earlier; the meat dries out a bit toward the end. I was veering more toward the 3 spectrum, but the price charged, delicious pear cobbler, and veggies I couldn't get enough of... More

Booked for their pre-theatre early evening carvery - led there from the theatre's web site as I booked the theatre tickets. I had no idea of what was in store - I had never heard of the place. What a great experience and what a great price. The menu offers 2 courses at £22 and a third course can be... More

We had a lovely dinner meal here, and was surprised with a bottle of wine for our anniversary. The chicken I had was tender and very tastefully done, huge Buffett to pick your salad from and soup. You will not leave hungry!

Staying in Westminster

Neighborhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
