3rd visit and what can I say!! The star was so well deserved. We had some great tapas and grilled fish. Atmosphere while slightly changed is still great. Food and wine amazing.

Overpriced and underwhelming! So disappointed as I was really looking forward to trying this place out. The beef tartare was unrecognisable, just a bizarre sweet mixture that tasted like it had been smothered in tomato sauce! The worst beef tartare I have ever tasted. The...lemon sole was drowning in oil/butter (?), and tasteless. The "sommelier" (who also doubled as a waiter) was very rude and dismissive when he realised we didn't want to spend £60+ on a bottle of wine. I have eaten at some lovely Michelin star places that, regardless of what you order or spend, treat you so well. Not here, so be ready for that! Not impressed at all, clearly this place is all hype and no substance, and very much up itself (if the sommelier's attitude is anything to go by)!More

I went to Brat for my girlfriends birthday. Firstly every single staff member was welcoming, friendly and attentive. They really made the experience better. The food was good, it was mainly cooked on an open fire and the restaurant always put a signature twist to...every meal. Would definitely recommend visiting Brat.More

COVID Quarantine complete, time celebrate! Visiting daughter who resides in London and is quite the foodie. We can always count on her to expose us to unique, colorful and unusual eateries. She exceeded herself with Brat just steps from Shoreditch High Street station in east...central London. After the NHS checkin app at the entrance we made the climb to the upstairs open and well lit dining area. Nothing fancy with open warehouse like exposed ceiling beams and utilities. But anchored with the roaring open fire cooking area. We were lucky to get a last minute cancellation for the bit early 5:30 reservation. So be advised book well in advance even for a weeknight. Began with a seaweed martini, for the daughter, a hay smoked old fashion for my with and lovely highland single malt neat. Service was well paced at first, only to slow as the meal progressed. All is forgiven based on reduced post COVID staffing and Superb food! The drink menu is unique and quite pleasing to the palate. A bottle of Thymiopoulos Greek Rose. It is the perfect accompaniment to the variety of small plates we had; enhancing but not overpowering each unique flavor. We began with the Grilled bread with anchovies and the Grilled whole peas. Both were light and packed with flavor and texture! The peas are a winner. Lightly coated in EVOO and grilled with mint leaves and sprigs of dill. Those were followed by Moorland Beef Tatare tender, rare and seasoned with lemon, capers and toasted bread crumbs. Next came Wild Rabbit Rice covered with cream sauce and cooked to flakey perfection. The final small plate was the roasted Quail with Olives; a fabulous finish. Had to complete the meal with the house specialty desert Burnt Cheesecake & Rhubarb. What a swirling contrast of sweet and tart and soft and some crunch! Everything was top notch. If you visit London you must go to Brat! You will be so pleased you did.More

Amazing food, all cooked in the outside ovens. The Turbot in particular was incredible. I highly recommend a visit.

This is one of my favourite places in London. Super relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff, delicious food but I'm afraid the wine menu still needs improvement, especially if you're after a biodynamic option by the glass.

Excellent unfussy menu in a really nice smart casual dining area. Open kitchen/grill area makes you feel very much part of proceedings. Could have eaten anything off the menu. We had a few smaller dishes to share (anchovies bread, roast oysters, crab tart) and all...were excellent. Main courses are pretty hefty. I had a toast mallard. Fantastic and could have fed 2 people. My friend had Mutton which looked amazing too. Wine reasonably priced and good selection of sherry. Service friendly and efficient throughout. Bring your appetite with you. Very good indeed.More
