The entire service experience was appalling. The staff were untrained, unprofessional and careless. We were served by 4 different waiters, we weren't offered a wine list until we were on our second course - despite having asked twice. Our table wasn't ready until 9.30 - but at 11pm - when we were still awaiting desert - the staff turned the... More

Fabulous experience. Food was excellent. Views were great. Get there early for window seat. As expected the wine is expensive. For a £5 supplement (as I had the set menu deal) I recommend the cheese board for dessert.. great selection of French cheeses. The staff were friendly and efficient and did not rush you to leave. If you can, walk... More

Last Thursday our Daughter & Son took the wife and I to the gherkin for lunch. Although my wife knew where we were going. I was not told and I had a fantastic surprise when we arrived. After booking in we went to the 38th floor where we were shown to our table. The views were out of this world.... More

My wife and myself wanted to have a special dinner, the two of us! No kids for once! The location is spectacular and St Paul shining among the evening lights is certainly something you will not forget so quickly. True that if you are offered a table close to the internal wall...you are not going to see much. You can... More

We booked Searcys for dinner whilst on a visit to London. We booked for the set menu which was priced at £47 including a gin cocktail. The three of us arrived in good time and were led to a our table which was very spacious. Unfortunately we weren't located near the windows but we still had good views. The restaurant... More

We had an early reservation on a Friday evening. It was dark outside, so you could see everything lit up. The menu was a set menu and from what I remember very reasonable. I thought the food was very nice and excellent value. Our guest really enjoyed themselves and were very happy with the view. The staff were all attentive... More

Had a Bookatable deal for lunch (£42) yesterday, it was everything I hoped for. We had a window table .The views were good in spite of the weather. The staff were attentive but not obtrusive. Our food looked good and tasted delicious. it was a delightful meal well worth the money. I would have no hesitation going back or recommending... More

We had been wanting to dine at Searcys in the Gherkin for ages so I was really excited when I saw the offer in collaboration with Aspinal of London for Valentine's Day dinner. The building is a unique design & offers some amazing views over London; the restaurant is small but elegant & the five course tasting menu was delicious... More

Nice view but that's about it, the food looked fancy but was really average, not to say bad from starter to main, and the dessert...even a disaster, I've had a rum sponge which is exactly what it was, a sponge soaked in rum with some whipped cream on top, I like rum (that's why I've order it) but I won't... Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
