We were looking for lunch after visiting the latest exhibition at the British Museum (the Egypt exhibition which is fantastic and highly recommended). Came across Konaki and ate al fresco in the quiet back garden. Excellent food and personal service and good value for money. Recommended

Even though we were there for dinner quite early the place was already pretty busy. They kindly found us a table even though we didn’t have a booking with the gentle undertaking that we’d vacate by 8pm for an existing reservation. Service was prompt. Food was honestly described and very good eating. Price was reasonable. We would go back.

What could be better after viewing the Elgin Marbles at the museum than a good Greek dinner. Konaki may not be the best Greek restaurant I've been to but it's location is great and the atmosphere is very nice. I had a decent meal with reasonably good service. Not a bad choice if you are in the area.

Konaki, a minute walk from the British Museum, looks spectacular and offers many dishes, many are suitable for vegetarians. So we popped inside and gave it a try. The décor may be a bit kitsch, but it create an atmosphere of a Greek village. I found the staff a bit impatient and even rude (I was quite surprised by the... More

We thought an Greek restaurant, but shame on them.. It did't even came in the neighbourhood of our restarants in Belgium.. Its was a tasteless, without smell or prentation preparation of food, and expensive! Please walk by and don't take the risk to eat here!!

Stumbled across this restaurant one evening so decided to eat there the next night. We had the 3 courses for £13-50 , well worth the money.food was lovely. Service was good too. When we asked what some courses were they were very accurate. Will definitely try and go back if ever in London again.

My experience in this small and lovely restaurant was completely comfortable! I went with my friend and we found that the food was tasted and delicious; and the service so friendly and nice. We had a lovely dinner, definitely I'll be back soon.

I and two long-standing business colleagues met up for a full 'blow-out' hot meze lunch which was, as usual, outstanding in terms of both quality and generosity. This is a favourite haunt of mine in Central London and I have been eating there since the 1990's having initially wandered in by chance after a trip to the nearby British Museum.... More

We visited Konaki after a matinee performance at New London Theatre. We sat out side at the rear of the restaurant. Very pleasant. None of us could fault this place. It was a peaceful haven after the rush of London. The food was very good, with ample portions and reasonable prices. Very welcoming, with unobtrusive friendly service. We will certainly... More

This is a brilliant restaurant for a leisurely lunch located as it is near to the British Museum. Welcoming atmosphere. Lovely courtyard at the rear catering for both sunlovers and those preferring shade. Excellent two course lunch menu plus, plus...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighborhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
