We had fish and chips here after a day out in London. We have eaten here before and the food has always been fresh and hit. We sat in their restaurant this time, they have quite a few tables. We got a table straight away. The waitress was very friendly. We both had fish and chips, I had cod and my husband had rock. We got a free salad we our meal, which was so fresh it tasted very good. Our fish was very good, lots of chips, tartare sauce is included with other condiments in the table. We will definite eat here again. It’s London prices, but you expect food to be more e pensive if you are eating out up London.

A reliable place with a sit down restaurant and table service that's smart enough to recommend to tourists. They have added service to already slightly above average prices, so now a medium cod and chips came to £18..95 before service charges I can get a large (they call it regular) cod twice the size and chips for £10.00 in Lewisham's "Something Fishy". But if you are in town and want a smart and reliable place to taste proper English Fish and Chips, sausages, pies etc, this is good and on major bus routes like 148, 68, 171, 188, 176, 12, 40 and on th Waterloo Road exit from the tube (turn left exiting the tube, its just under the railway bridge). As of October 2024 they don't serve chicken any more. Recently I found it full on Friday and Saturday at 2.20pm, so maybe get there earlier or on a normal weekday!

Good little restaurant makes a family lunch to discover the famous fish and chips! Good reception from the waiter, proper decoration, ratio / quality; price a little expensive (£99 for 4 F&C + 4 softs + 2 Kfé) the fish was good and hearty, fries too rustic and "not homemade" just like the béarnaise sauce served from its packaging. It is not possible to see beer or other alcohol because they do not have the license. No payment by CB, just cash £ or €. Cleanliness correct.

As someone who lives in Yorkshire I love visiting this place when on a visit to London or I did. On Friday I called in to check if they would be open until 11.00pm as stated as I had an event to attend and wanted to eat afterwards. I arrived at 10.15pm to find them closing my dinner that night was a sandwich from M&S. Following night I tried again arrived to then find the eat in menu had changed but as a veggie who loves their chips cooked in oil as opposed to the northern beef dripping I tried to order a salad that was on the menu to be told they don't do them ..... so why are they on the menu? They used to do omelettes but not any more. With a heavy heart I left totally disappointed that my favourite chippy when visiting London could not offer anything other than a "yawn" veggie burger. Menu suggestion how about some battered deep fried halloumi. Not difficult, will not put you out, does not take long to cook and without much effort could keep a large section of potential customers happy. On my next visit to London I will check their menu and hopefully they will have more choice. I was accompanied by my husband who was prepared to spend over £20 on his haddock and chips meal.

We went there for the good reviews and to eat good London fish and chips but in the end we were disappointed! Prices are much higher on site than takeaway prices, no beer, canned drinks, average clean dishes, really average frozen fries. Barely friendly server. The fish was good but less than extraordinary. No children's menu, and at the end they drop you the bill as soon as you finish your plate (we would have had a coffee) and we offer you a cheaper cash price or the normal price on the menu. I'm sure you can find much better elsewhere!

I went to this place on a Tuesday for lunch with a friend. As soon as we enter we sit at a free table and are immediately informed that we can only pay in cash. Maybe they had only really had problems that day (as an Italian I don't believe it much) but in any case I had to go out and go to Waterloo station, about 150 meters away, to get to the nearest working ATM. Despite the obligatory walk, the service was fast, the prices were affordable and the dishes weren't bad (not even special), perhaps the frying was a little greasy for my tastes. It's a shame for the small dimensions which don't help air circulation (you can imagine the fried smell present) and force you to have table neighbors who are closer than you might want.

Fish and chips at their finest, we really wanted to try fish and chips and were not disappointed. A really inconspicuous restaurant and you have to look closely to find it. We were there at lunchtime, couldn't get a seat as it was full, so we took the take away option which was very good nearby. The staff and the food were great, huge portions at a very reasonable price, would go back anytime

This was by far the best fish and chips I have had in London for many a year and I have tried a few. The portions were very generous and the fish was pure white and the batter and chips were not greasy at Represents very good value 3 of us had large haddock and chips and 1 had grilled seabass I will definitely return when I am out in the Waterloo area

Charged an extra 4 pounds per person to eat in a greasy chipper under a railway bridge across from Waterloo station. When we questioned it I was told ‘go to any European city and you will be charged extra to sit inside’ Food was poor, just fish and chips, anything else was extra money. Waited 40 minutes for our food. We could have had lunch on the Seine for probably a couple of quid more.

We popped in early evening to ask about booking a table a few hours later, but they said it’d be fine just to come back. Went back and they remembered us, greeted us warmly and instantly showed us to a table (but told us that there are queues at lunchtime). Fish & chips were excellent. Everything is cooked freshly and we thought it was good value for money as the portions are huge. They don’t serve alcohol but we did have two lovely cups of tea!

I wanted something hot to eat after my Hop On Hop Off bus tour and, because I saw the Trip Advisor sign and that it was the 2nd best fish & chip place in London, I gave it a try. My host was very welcoming and I ordered the fresh cod fish burger and chips. While I waited, I sang along to the 60's music, which I just love! WELL! when my food arrived, I tried the chips first and they were PIPING HOT and so good and fluffy. The fish burger was similarly so piping hot I had to be careful and the fish wonderfully moist; I could not fault a thing. My host kept checking on me to ask how everything was - I was genuinely impresed with the food, service and 60's music and, if in that area of London again, will definitely return!

When I went to Westminster, I wanted to eat fish and chips, so I went there with my child for lunch. It's surprisingly close from that area, so I recommend taking the bus, and get off at Waterloo station. I thought the atmosphere was a little different from the city center, but it was no problem. You walk under an overpass and you'll find the shop under another overpass. It feels like a local shop, and there were American posters on the inside. I used the ladies' toilet, and there were no problems. We went on a weekday at opening time, so there were only a few groups inside, but locals were getting takeout while we were waiting. The cod was 17 pounds a plate, had no smell, was thick, and the chips were a predictably large portion. We also went to a famous fish and chip shop in town, and both were delicious.

The best F&C I've ever tried in the UK! Location: easy to reach in no time by tube and bus from all areas of London (less than 100 meters from Waterloo station or bus stop); Local: small but well organized, nicely furnished, clean (you go out without the smell of fried on even if the kitchen is open); Toilets: spotless; Menu: classic of an F&C but with variations for all tastes and also suitable for people who follow a diet; Cuisine: as I said the best F&C I have ever tasted. Fish, butter and top frying (light oil, definitely changed very frequently), Chips up to the fish! Organization: very responsive and functional. Even in the busiest hours, the staff does everything to minimize waiting times. Staff: very kind and helpful. An effective and cohesive team perfectly managed by the very nice Nick! In conclusion, F&C highly approved and highly recommended. With my mobile we had lunch every day at their place!

Disturbing service, not even a word or a smile Very high prices, with a service charge of 12.5% which cuts you even more slack Good fish and chips, onion rings and fried calamari rings worth seeing again I wouldn't go back. At 3, £90, too much for a Fish and Chips Location next to Waterloo square

I’ve been to multitude of fish and chip spots in London…I make it a point to try different ones every time I’m in London…and I’m there once or twice a year. I saw a review on you tube to try this place so I did…just FYI I had three kids with me who wanted to share…they wouldn’t allow it and made all order separate meals or they would refuse to serve us. This place by far has the worst fish and chips I have ever had…the place is dirty and the service is even worse…stay away
