So if apero is closed or whatever. Then just walk right on to Raison D'etre. Apple somethings are a great hit and the croissants are marvelous. Coffee is very unfrench, that is because it actually is drinkable. Good place to do your breakfast business!

What a great little place. Food fab, staff friendly, informative and very helpful in narrowing down your choices from the extensive range on offer and to cap it all excellent value for money in the french quarter of London. Outside was the hustle and bustle of the a food market and the banter of families out and about on busy,... More

It's a small place but the quality of food is just amazing. We had the best panini's of our life here. Staff are courteous and polite.

Wandering down Bute Street in South Kensington I came across a little coffee bar/restaurant. I just wanted green tea & a good salad- I received both! The salad consisted of a base of rocket, avocado, cream cheese and smoked salmon- with a side of Balsamic dressing and served with crispy bread. Service was friendly and efficient.

My partner and I randomly stumbled upon this place after having a walk around the area. Great atmosphere with the most delicious focaccia bread. The owner Matt was very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit there. Highly recommended!

My husband and I ate here after finding the reviews on trip advisor. The restaurant is on a side street and was a little difficult to find. It was a short walk from the Natural History Museum. I had a hot ham and cheese panini which I enjoyed. My husband was not fond of his sandwich as he didn't feel... More

After a long morning/afternoon of shopping, we popped in here for a late lunch. It was no accident, as I had picked this place out before traveling to London due to the great reviews. It took us a little bit to find it, but once we did, it was well worth it. Our baguettes were out of this world delicious!... More

I was in South Kensington for a few nights and ended up going here every morning despite all the options. Fantastic coffee and fresh croissants beat a full English breakfast every day.

An old haunt for over ten years Raison d'Etre is still as good as it ever was, better in fact. Service always friendly and efficient, fresh viennoiserie & sandwiches and prices reasonable. Considering you tend to pay a premium in South Ken on anything it is well worth a visit. Last but not least they use excellent coffee grade and... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
