As a 3 Michelin stars restaurant, we expected excellence and that is what was delivered. Our dishes were really good, seasonal produces, good quality, well executed, well presented. The service was impeccable and discreet. I really recommend to go for lunch, the set menu is a really good value: amuse bouche, started, main and dessert with selection of bread and... More

As a michilin three star, I think it's not worth a three star. The dishes here are good, but not excellent. After I finish my dinner, I couldn't think of any dish which could let me remember. The service is good. OVerall, good, but not excellent as michilin three star.

Our amazing experience started in reception where we were warmly greeted and guided through to the pleasure chamber. When your dining at the top end you sometimes have difficulty in discerning between one restaurant or another. Not here!. It really is streets ahead in terms of service, style, flavour and overall experience. This man is a genius. We are not... More

Dining at Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester is usually a very expensive affair reserved for very special occasions. However, the lunchtime menu - which includes 3 courses, 2 glasses of matching wines, water, tea/coffee and several bonus dishes - is positively excellent value at £60 per head. Ok, the mains were a tad simple and not particularly memorable. However, the... More

Introduction: this was a one off visit. So my view is based on a single observation rather than frequent guest. Nevertheless this is the best restaurant I have been in London. Alain Ducasse leads by a long margin over all restaurants I have been to. I was asking myself what is different between 3 and 1 Michelin star. The answer... More

I did not expect to be wowed out of my socks as you can only do so much with food and I was not let down. The food was as good as you can get anywhere without any outstanding points, The only memorable moment was the bill!

My wife and I had a dinner at The Dorchester. The service is flawless. We took the degustation menu plus wine. Disappointing! It wasn't as good that at L'atelier de Joel Robuchon. It was not a festival of flavor. Wines were average too. I rate it 3 out of 5 because I think the ratio price quality is really not... More

My wife and I had lunch here. Overall it was very nice. The food of a standard one would expect and the service quite attentive. However, it did feel like it lacked a certain wow factor. We might return one day but I very much prefer the other 3 star restaurant in London!

The restaurant is worthy of its name. The atmosphere was great but a little bit casual for such an important restaurant. The service was excellent and very attentive. The food was superb, very composed, refined and well balanced. However, some might find it a little bit lacking in excitement. The wine list was extensive with wonderful sommeliers who always keen... I had organised this months in advance for my husband's birthday. Having eaten at The Waterside Inn at Bray, we had very high expectations. I had chosen the 7 course Tasting Menu. The courses were superb as you would expect from a 3* Michelin restaurant, exquisite sauces, fish, duck and guinea fowl. However what I was rather surprised, was the... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighborhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
