The best gluten free pasta ever. We visit as a family every time we travel to London. The children love the carbonara, and I myself have tried almost every dish on the menu, and enjoyed them all. The desserts are all gluten free, and so...tasty. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for catering to coeliac's. It makes our visits even better every time.More

Went yesterday for lunch and I have to say it was the best fresh gluten free pasta I've had, anywhere. We had both had the filled tortellini with Bolognese for mains. The pasta was so good and the Bolognese was delicious. The staff were lovely,...we had a lovely bottle of wine with the meal and fresh warm gluten free bread and olives to start which were delicious. Very very happy to have found this place, I will absolutely be back, it's very hard to find fresh filled gluten free pasta and this one was superb, try it!More

In the words of Will-I-am ‘where is the love?’ Food mediocre and not value for money. The restaurant feels like it is on its way out and does not offer that Italian warmth and welcome. Disappointing.

We visited as a family the night before the marathon for a pre race meal. The two requirements we had were for pasta and good gluten free options for one of the party and on both they delivered. However the service wasn’t great. On arrival...our table wasn’t ready (no big deal on its own) and for some strange reason we had to prove with an email that we had a reservation. We ordered some simple starters which arrived before our drinks & it took 1.5 hours from arriving before the main course was served. The serving team were certainly busy but it just seemed so disorganised & no service with a smile or any acknowledgement as we left. The food itself was OK. The tomato based sauces are so sweet that they are sickly to taste and it destroys any taste of herbs. The carbonara was good and the breads were fantastic. The wine selection was very good. Overall mediocre food, dubious service and even by London standards overpriced for the quality & experience. They do cater well for GF though. It could be good but lose the sugar in the tomato sauce please.More

I was so excited to book reservations at this restaurant that boasted on their website about their attention to allergen needs. I was sorely disappointed. The waiter scoffed at me as I asked questions pertaining to my severe allergies. He made me feel like a...burden and when I spoke up with my displeasure, he handed me over to the manager. She was helpful but overall my experience was marred. This is the only restaurant in all of the ones we visited in the UK that made me feel this way.More

Having worked in Italy professionally and being someone who has eaten some of the very best in my timeand therefore adores Italian food and the country and it's people and the culture, not least Opera ............this has to be nearly the very worst I have...ever eaten, which for me is sad, as the ambience and internal appearance of the restaurant s you enter is good and the area in which it is sighted is also good ........and for the very friendly staff who served us one of whom came I learned from Bolognia ( so she herself must be well aware of what good Italian cuisine looks and tastes like?.)........... I therefore would like to think it should have a very good future........I also note that it has recently changed it's name and is possibly under new ownership/management so there in may lie the reason things are not as they should be...............However, whoever is now in charge needs to seriously re think its menu and the standard of it's cooking The menu does not need to be overly long but they should remind themselves that the very best of Italian food for me is both simple and clean....so whoever is presently in the kitchen needs to have a serious re think and even consider re training, if only to learn the basics of what temperature food should be at when served? Despite my undoubted dissappointment, and I could quite easily have walked out but out of politeness didn't. I therfore wish those now ruunning the restaurant well for the future and can only hope that as and when I do return things have greatly improved. Neil McKinnonMore

Good place, especially because of the gluten free options, but nothing for which I dream to go back. For me the best dish was the caponata (served with burrata), while the tortelli filled with butternut squash with porcini mushroom was ok, but didn't convinced me....Toltelli weren't well cooked in some parts, still nothing too bad, but mushrooms didn't seem to be porcini and, the worst part for me, mushrooms were mixed with a lot of heavy cream, which wasn't even mentioned in the menu and I don't particularly like. I don't know why ingredients are not specified in the menu, especially if an ingredient is one of the main ones. Regarding wines, there're many choices but only two wines are available in glasses (125ml and 175ml).More

Excitement and anticipation is something that is rare these days but that's what I feel when I'm about to be treated to a meal cooked by Alessia! Having first experienced her cuisine in Italy, I was thrilled in the queue to learn how she makes...hand-rolled traditional bolognese pasta. Mattarellos menu combinations are always enticing and its presentation is exceptional. The most recent memorable meal included a mouthwateringly Truffle cream and stuffed tortelli with butternut squash and mushrooms was incredibly yummy! The evening went very smoothly and the waitresses did a wonderful job in looking after everybody. Definitely planning my next foray with friends to sample their 2024 menus! American here. Amex concierge recommended this spot as it was near our hotel and had great reviews. Lasagne was dry and burnt. Tried to chalk it up to rustic, but then tried my wife’s carbonara. She loves all dente. It was hard, way beyond al...dente - way undercooked or super old. This place holds itself out as a fresh pasta place - if that is the case it shouldn’t take longer than two minutes to cook for pasta. A table behind us sent food back as it was frozen inside. Bartender was throwing around stuff behind the bar. It was obnoxious. There were only five parties in the restaurant. Server was nice. Hostess seemed annoyed we were there. Bread was decent. We ordered two baskets of those. Portions were small for American standards, probably a good thing haha. I wouldn’t go back.More

If you do not eat eggs, you might struggle to choose a main course as (from memory) they only offer handmade pasta dishes. The pasta should therefore include eggs.
