Their location is awesome, the pub is nicely decorated, but the services is awful (to be honest, there was this one guy that came latter and ended up bringing us the tap water we'd asked to 3 other attendants before). Ok, I would certainly overcome...More

Couple of drinks before seeing Bat Out of Hell. Balcony was busy and very hot in the sun so we moved inside and shared a table with a nice man from Cyprus. Good place but why do they let people in with no shirt?

Set nicely in the covent garden market we found the atmosphere very pleasant, with good food and service. Fresh fish and salads were very tasty. Unfortunately we had to get a table for ourselves by arguing with others waiting in line.

Over-rated, over-priced, over-crowded with rude staff. What's to like? There are dozens of good places to eat and drink in this area – and this most certainly isn't one of them.

I don't quite understand the criticism. If you want a gourmet dinner, go elsewhere (P & J serves lovely English pub food if you like that sort of thing). Punch & Judy is one of the best pubs in London.

The Punch & Judy is a world famous pub landmark in its own right and is thought to be named after the puppet show performances that took place in the nearby piazza for the children of flower-sellers. Built in 1787, this listed building retains much of the original brick and stonework. It's known as being one of the very few buildings in the area that escaped bomb damage during the blitz. The pub is located facing the west piazza and from this balcony our guests have the best view to watch the street performers. It is clear why a pub in London’s Covent Garden Piazza bears this name, for it was here in May 1662 that Samuel Pepys came to see the performance of an Italian puppet play. This is the first record of a ‘Punch’ show in England and would have been a novelty at the time. The Punch & Judy serves fantastic British cask ales, selected wines and premium spirits as well as traditional British pub food such as fish & chips and steak & ale pie. The team look forward to your visit!
