Busy pub not too far from Liverpool St Station that shows a lot of sport with all the TVs dotted around the main bar area. Greene King but does have a good selection ales on tap. Swift was a nice session beer. Downstairs offers area to book out for functions. Main bar easily crowded but good vibe. Friendly girls behind... More

English pub, with amazing fish & chips... Very large serve, big chunk of fish, peas, generous chips, tartare sauce as well as a spicy pumpkin sauce. More than enough for a famished worker...

Due to a particularly friendly and attentive member of staff our visit and customer were very appreciated. God choice of real ales and reasonable food for a pub in the City. Wish I could rember staff members name.

We'd actually just left a pre-booked pub so were searching the area for a roast dinner. This is a lovely pub, clean, relaxed, nice atmosphere, Christmas decorations - I'd be happy to come here solo, no problem. Food was nice but not exceptional .I really expected a Christmas Roast dinner seeing as it's 2 weeks before Christmas but had to... More

Ended up here on a busy Sunday afternoon after issues with staff at 'Dirty Dicks-Bishopsgate'... Pub was filled with football fans watching the game and provided a loud and lively atmosphere. Food was good pub grub, nice sized portions and great choice. Bar staff were very friendly and added to the experience.

Average pub. Food was pub grade average, and service was slow on a Sunday night. Seemed like they were trying to save on staff - two people total, with one of those seemingly there, then not for extended periods. The outcome was a long wait at the bar for orders. A table of people started to get antsy about their... More

The pub is really nice : it is big and often crowded. There is a great room downstairs, the room with the bar and a nice patio outside with screens as well. A nice place to go to watch any football or rugby game ! Nice beers, and food ok (Taylor Walker's pub, for those who know)

Very welcoming staff in this pub just off Liverpool Street. Unfortunately screens showing sport and a bar full of old men gives the pub a real bloke feel. Once they left it became a lot more pleasant! We went in for breakfast on. Saturday morning. My vegi breakfast was fine but a little dry! Overall fine for a quick bite... More

Good beer selection, lots of seats, show a great range of sport. BUT.... the food is not good. Me and my boyfriend ate here yesterday for Sunday lunch and it was appalling. The roast is advertised as authentic, lots of gravy, homemade Yorkshire puds... but this is false advertising. The puds came and were frozen in the middle! The vegetable... More

I visited this pub for something to eat yesterday afternoon with 3 work colleagues. One of the 'lads' wanted pie and mash and he chose to go here. (I will let you decide where he is from...) anyway the service was excellent, the pub was clean, the prices were sensible and the proper pub food was excellent. if you are in... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
