The food at Comptoir is fresh, healthy, honest and affordable. Comptoir wakes up early to provide customers with unique Lebanese breakfasts to eat in or take away; offering everything from organic yoghurt topped with pomegranate and orange blossom water, porridge and halloumi cheese and za’atar croissants. Visit for lunch and dinner and enjoy all types of interesting and colourful dishes, including hot and cold mezze – perfectly sized for sharing- wraps, salads, tagines, grills and Man’aesh (Lebanese style pizzas). For dessert, nothing is more authentic than the sweet taste of baklawa – Lebanese pastries in a variety of flavours such as date filled semolina and walnut filled flaky pastry. Drinks

This is a not to be missed venue. The staff are exceptionally courteous and friendly, the restaurant space is bright and spacious and the atmosphere relaxed. The menu has a good selection of authentic cuisine. The Tagines are superb, as is the mixed grill and...the fish. Each dish is beautifully prepared with care and precision. The jewel in the crown however is the mixed lemonade, it feels like you are drinking the nectar of the gods. A special mention goes to the lady who mixes the drinks (Maria?) , herself a perfect blend of courtesy and professionalism. Great place for a family meal, a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner. Excellent value for money and you are made to feel exceptionally welcome !More

Lunch with a couple of friends. The mezze to share was delicious. Lots of it and very tasty. I had the lamb and halloumi burger which was a bit disappointing. A little on the dry side but that might just be my personal taste. Certainly...not anything I would send back and I ate it all. The service was slow with one main dish incorrect, but sorted out without fuss. Took forever to order puddings and get the bill. Nice, but wouldn’t go back.More

Lovely food, staff and ambience, as well as a chilli sauce that rocks. Well recommended if you are into mezze, kebabs and their unique Lebanese tagines. The mezze for 1 is enough for 2!

This restaurant is a franchise from a chain normally offering good value and well prepared Lebanese food. Just what we wanted on a very hot summer evening. Since the branch we normally visit closed, we came here in Poland street. Pretty much as soon as...we entered we knew something was wrong. Just one waitress arguing with kitchen staff and arguments over the content of take away orders being picked up. One of the kitchen staff was very reluctant to serve us. (Just before 9 pm.) Then our main dish arrived before the starters. Half of the grilled meat was underdone and cold. The presentation of the food not up to standard for what Comptoir Libanais does elsewhere. And adding to the confusion - very noisy air conditioning running on turbo, with all the windows to the street being open. Plus distorted music. The waitress all by herself had a hard time and so did we. Lebanese food on a summer evening, on a quiet terrace can be heavenly, but not here.More

We enjoyed our lunch at Comptoir Libanais Poland Street which is just two minutes south of Oxford street, literally behind Marks&Spencer's. They have some outdoor seating, too. We can recommend this for a quick lunch.

Very good breakfast with good service. Something different compared to a normal fry up and we highly recommend a visit. The owner has a nice message on his menu and this felt welcoming. The dessert was missing a fig - where's my fig! :( A...service charge is slapped on the final bill. It can be hard to discuss the removal of this in front of guests, so this was paid. I do believe that this practice can lower standards as the tip is already expected! This discretionary service charge always annoys me. Either increase your staff wages (taxes payable!) or increase your prices (tax payable!). Simply stop this shoddy practice. We expected to be served in a restaurant, that’s why we turned up! We don’t expect to be charged separately for it (discretionary or not). We are more than capable of determining a "tip" for the service received.More

Had a lovely supper. We will definitely come back as the food was served quickly while being really tasty and delicious. The staff exceeded our expectation especially the manager who was very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Being a vegetarian I found...many great options to choose from. We will 100% come back !!More
